Which set would you want most? Do you know of any sets to add? Is SYKCO and Swamp Rat the same company?

If you could buy one one set and it be your only set for life what would you buy?

Scrap Yard and Swamp Rat are part of the Busse Combat Knife Group.

I'm sort of biased, but would go with either Swamp Rat or Scrap Yard. I have a few from each of these and and they are great. Scrapyard produces excellent value knives and uses some great steels also the Res-C handles are very comfortable.

I would go with the Swap Rat or Scrap Yard myself.

Becker would be my next choice.

Don't forget Survive knives.

I would love one of the scrap yards, if they would just stop grinding those nasty choils. The 911 would be the PERFECT modern leuku if the grind just went all the way up to the handle. :'-(

I feel the same way. And if you look at their specs, I don't like how they list blade length as "X" amount of inches when in fact the finger choil robs you of a full inch less of what the specs indicate.

I would take the ESEEs off of that list. I would however take a Ratmandu (Swamp Rat) over any on the list.

I was under the impresion that ESEE Junglas and ESEE was considered a very well made knife and better than the Ontario RAT Series that Randall invented for them. I was told that the Ontario RAT series was pretty good but may chip a little easier and that Randall fixed these problems when they became ESEE. I may have been mis-informed and dont know better. Why are you not a fan of ESEE, you have a right to not like them if you choise and I do not judge others for stating their honest opinion. Matter of fact I respect others who speak their mind in a proper manor.

I have no idea who this company is. Where can I find more information about them? I have seen a few post about them here but other than that I know nothing about them. Thanks for bringing them up.

I know this may sound pitty but one of the reasons I like the BK series is that most have a thumb ramp. I know most dont care for a thumb ramp but I like them and one of the reasons I am always attracted to them.

As much as it pains me, I would probably choose the Kabar Becker line. They are pretty good hard use knives. I only own the BK2 and BK16. I tend to use a short machete for a big chopper versus something like a BK9 or the Junglas.

I hate rhetorical questions like these. But, since I'm playing, I'd have to pick the Becker line.
Now that I answered the question, I can say that I would cherry pick from your list.

Ontario RD series are great. Full flat grind and 5160 @ 1/4" thick is hard to beat.
I'll pick the RD4 over the BK2 any day.

I would go with Swamp Rat out of those listed without question by far, SR-101 is 52100 with Busse's heat treatment.

Also as someone else mentioned Survive! Knives, excellent knives.

It would be hard to beat the Beckers, especially for the price.
This.
I love the Beckers and feel they can hold their own with the best of them. Having said that I have been looking at about half the knives you listed for myself.
If I was making a set I might pick and choose knives from different companys. Looking at sheaths & handles is also important. Does the sheath fit your carry style? can you get aftermarket sheatths, handles?
Don't forget about TOPs knives.:)

Thanks for the video.

I like Busse a lot and would someday like to own some but right now I can not afford to get hooked on them. They are way to expensive for my budget.

The Ratmandu look cool and something I am going to look at as soon as I can.
