I went into work today, and as I am lucky to wear many many hats all for one low salary I got to handle this funny little situation. One of the managers in the pharmacy I work in came up to me and told me that the office printer wasn't working, and could I take a look at it. Oh, yeah being in charge of anything relating to any and all of the computers is one of those hats.
Actually I had known that it wasn't working since Monday, but hey I didn't really know that so lets not get into that.
So anyway I go and look at it. It is turning on, making noise like it can't grab a sheet of paper and then the add paper light comes on. I check everything out and no paper jam or anything else obvious. It was slow so I took the thing apart. The problem seemed to be that there were two thumbtacks stuck in the paper feeding mechanism.
I got them out and then found that the feeding wheel had gotten flat on one side form being jammed up and running in place for so long.
Moral of the story?
Keep those thumbatcks out of your printers and on the corkboard.
