Please do not innundate Spark and Cougar with email supplications and suggestions. I have already offered what I feel is a workable suggestion, allowing the Camillus collectors to join us here. Groveling is a moot point. Rudeness would be inexcusable. The owner of the forums has spoken after what has been, I am sure, a long period of deliberation. Any way it goes, I respect his decision and ask you to do likewise.

Camillus and schrade are somewhat cousins right, close enough for me. I've been spending some time chatting in camillus forum lately and read some pretty interesting stuff you wrote over there michael. the more the merrier. -Joel

I personally fit Camillus quite nicely into the Imperial Schrade geneology. Albert Baer was eventual owner of Camillus, thence to his children and grandchildren. It was where he got his start in the cutlery business at age 16. Working for the Kastors he signed Babe Ruth as a celeb to endorse Camillus figural baseball bat knives. He owned major shares of the company when he left (October 1940) and bought Ulster from the Divine family (Jan. 15th, 1941), then purchased the rest of the Camillus stocks in 1963 upon the death of Alfred Kastor. So yes, there is a nexus.

I second this motion wholeheartedly. Plenty of room for added knife discussions. I have several Camillus knives.

I'd be happy to welcome them:thumbup:

The participation in this board might increase overall. If the merger happens, I do wonder if the name of this forum could be changed to the Schrade and Camillus Collectors Forum--mainly for the benefit of new folks looking for info. Those folks pop in pretty regularly at the Camillus board, looking for information about a knife they've bought.

Guyon, something along those lines was mentioned in my suggestion. Now we shall see what we shall see. Here is the first (not really, but first today) Camillus posted here, a knife imported by Adolph Kastor & Brothers, most likely from their Germania Cutlery Works in Ohligs-Solingen, Germany c. 1905-1936 stamped A.W. Wadsworth & Son Germany
