# of knives made.....

have a question about customs - how many of the DDR maxx series have been made? i have a mini maxx talonite w/CF handles, #3, and was wondering how many maxx's have been made?? also how many crawford kaspers, have one of those also - and i dont need an exact #, just a guestimate, i would think less than 1000 of each, right???

Regarding the Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx, there are several different blade styles out there. Dagger, Bullnose, Bowie, etc...

Which one are you referring to?

These are custom knives and I doubt very much that Darrel could have made over 1000 of them. No idea as to the actual amount, but I doubt that there would be 1000 of the three different sizes and many different blade styles put together.
 
i was referring to a spearpoint mini maxx w/talonite blade and CF handles......

also, i wonder how long it takes to make one knife, and do they work on them one at a time, or on an assembly line basis???

and 1000 is prob high for the either one, but pat has made the kasper for quite a while, i think, so i would think that there were several hundred around anyway??? and would the #3 refer to the # made in that series (ie w/CF handles, SP/talonite blade or however ddr would divide them up, if he would )or to the mini maxx in gen'l???

The mini max have a number of ten to be sold by Blade art.
There are 4 made at this point.
The 4 inch madd maxx dagger is on number 25 (I keep count)
Neil Ostroff has the excluive on the MM bull nose.
There are ten in D2 and Ten in talonite.
The 5.5 madd maxx has around 35-45 out that have been sold over the last 1 and 3/4 years.
I hope this answers the question.

The Apogee sold 145 knives over 3 years.
The Krait was limited to 100 knives.

There really is a difference between Quality and quantity. If you made a thousand of them the wouldn't be what they are.

Yeah, thanks Darrel, those are very interesting numbers. I simply had no idea to even try and come up with a ball park on such things. Thanks again!
