I haven't had a chance to read many of these threads until now. Been real busy and just haven't had a chance to catch up.

As politically minded as I am, and as sure as I am about who has what it takes to make the best president, I am also very aware that folks on the other side feel just as vehemently as do I. If we can get past the rhetoric, it becomes obvious that nearly everyone wants for the same basic goals. We, no doubt, have different approaches to achieving those goals but we must focus on the fact, that just as we on this forum are all knifenuts, so are the constituents of both sides of the political arena all Americans.

We would do well in this country to extend our hand instead of our finger to our political opponents to see if we can surmount and erase some of the anymosity. It is difficult to get someone to listen to your side of the story when your fist is in their mouth. (Although, that can prove to be like graduate school for some folks! ;) )

Nuke on my wayward friends and let's get back to talkin' about knives!!!!!

Jerry

Not President obviously since that would be....well....not the natural order of things. There are plenty of other places for you in the government though :D

FYI....I'm trying to reach out to one of our brothers on the other side. He hasn't responded to my instant message yet but I am reaching out my hand!!!

no problem sir, sorry....

So, back to knives... When do we get to see the Big 10" subhilt fighter and the folder  ;) :D

While I can appreciate the sentiment of finding common ground and building upon it, it would be a mistake to gloss over certain fundamental aspects of the situation, just for the sake of maintaining gentility. The source of my displeasure toward my political opponents is simple: they want to take money from me and redistribute it, and they want to take liberties away from me. There is no parity to this: I don't want to take their money nor their freedoms--all I want from them is for them to let me be. If they would simply let me be, I would gladly extend the olive branch. But as long as my political opponents are intent upon needlessly aggressing against me, which I will never even tacitly accept, there can be no ease between them and me.

However, out of my respect for you and your forum, I will try to make the above portion of this post my last words on the subject.

Back to knife-talk: I just got the 6" nPBF and I love it!

I like knives and talking about knives. I respect our men in the armed forces. I distrust career politicians but who else is going to do the dirty work. Diversity is one of the strengths of this great country but everything has its own time and place. Nuke on!

Well, let's get back to knives.

Any future commentaries will have to be brought up in the BF Political Forum.
