Hi guys & gals!

Another package arrived today - after its long journey of five weeks across the Atlantic Ocean.
Some of you might remember, that I wanted to trade for a Queen DB Barlow some time ago and wrote this into my sigline of my account. So our fellow forum member Duane told me that he has such a knife and wants to trade for it. He told me what he wanted and I agreed - so the deal went on.

Today one of my grail knives arrived - they are out of stock at many retailers, at least on that ones that ship overseas... and I wanted to own and carry that knife the first time I´ve seen it.

So - here are the pics

Duane has put a great edge on this knife and it´s like a laser.

I really like and it will make a great companion to the other great knives I recieved recently. I hope Duane can chime in and tell his side of the story. Thank you, Duane - you are a great guy. :)

I hope you enjoyed the thread.

That's a very pretty knife. Good to hear of a successful international knife-swap

Very nice scales on that one. Most are more of a burnt orange. I was lucky enough to find one a few years back and it is in my top five of favorite carry knives.

Very nice Andi, you have the disease good my friend! :D

Hope you have a great birthday tomorrow

My side of the story...well I had seen Andi was looking for a DB Barlow for quite some time, and I knew I had one that was just sitting around. At one time it was a grail knife for me, and my lovely wife had got this one for me. It was still a favorite among my Barlows, but emotionally it was difficult for me to carry this knife. I wasn't going to share this part, but here goes...
A few years back, I went down to Florida to be with my brother and his girls during his final days, he had terminal cancer, and a short good by visit turned into an almost month long stay with him. This was the knife that I carried during this timeframe, so after that, it was difficult for me to carry this beautiful piece of cutlery. Upon seeing Andi's sig-line, I had a calling to reach out to him...such a nice knife really deserves to be carried and used, and having dealt with Andi in the past, I knew it would be impossible to just give him the knife ;) Andi likes the scales to be balanced ( I myself can relate to this :) ). I mentioned a Hatkopf Picnic knife to Andi, and all was good.

well, not so little  its a ROBT KLAAS kissing crane stamped knife, and a whopper at that. This one I took the liberty of re-surfacing the blade and re-profiling the tip to give it a proper point. Its got great snap and very firm pulls, and is a real workhorse.
Andi, you do this place proud, and it is always a pleasure my friend, to communicate with you, and read your posts here  I know you will enjoy that Queen DB, and feel that it is where it belongs to be, Thanks :)

Love it. I have the large Burke/Queen Barlow. Unfortunately I dropped it and cracked the lovely orange bone covers!

Great people around here, and you're one of them, Andi! Great knife, and kudos to Duane for being a stand up guy.
