I mainly only keep one EDC and I mainly only do hevy cutting ...rope, carpet, plastic.

A long while ago I owned a 710 in M2 it was good and strong (used it to put a pilot hole in my hood for a bug gard with out screwing up the tip)

Then a chineese folder VG-10 good knife got realy sharp realy fast but it got dull fast too and I eventually broke the tip off doing something stupid.

After that a SOG night vision ATS-34 nice knife but for what ever reason I waas unhappy with it. I'm still not sure why and I never really got a chance to push the steel.

Now I have a 735 154CM it's okay but nothing special.

I just seem to be unhappy with my knives lately I like tanto style blades but they're not great for a pull cut I like hawk bills but then you have no stabing. I like Wharncliffe but they don't seem tip strong. The problem with all three of these is there are a very limited selection of these styles.

My knife has to have some REAL beef to keep me happy and I want a supper steel that inspires me to say "boy that steel is SUPER"!

Is a AFCK in D2 the answer? Is D2 the answer? Maybe I finally need a custom?

BTW I really don't like that B2 coating but if that's what it takes to have my ultimate knife then I'll deal the poopy looks of the blade.(it will look poopy after a few good cuts)

Thanks for your sugestions if you want more info just ask. I'm a dedicated BF junky :D

I just seem to be unhappy with my knives lately

I would say that this is the first sign of a new mental depression called NCB (Need Custom Badly):)

My advise : go get a small Sebenza, and see if you can still complain

My vote goes to a Large Classic Sebbie with a BG42 or S30V blade! hehe Sebbie's really cut it and there build like a tank. You could pick one up in the For Sale Forum if you have some time for less then retail.

I don't really like the Sebbie. I don't like the fram lock and truthfully that's out of my price range if I was going to pay that much I'd rather get a custom I think.
What other ideas do you guys have? Should I be revistiting one of my preveious knives or steels?

I think you're likely to break the tip off a D2 blade (it is a bit on the hard side). For about $75.00, one of John Greco's folders with 3/16"-thick non-stainless 8670 alloy blade would stand up well to abuse.

greco's knives have soft spines and hard edges, there great fixed blades.;)

ohh forgot to add thats what makes them flexible:cool:

Knife11, wait for the Busse folder, it will definately be one tough knife. The price is unknown, hell, no one even knows what it looks like. I heard the sound of it clunking open on the phone and it sounds mean.
If it is priced in the Sebbie range, that would suck, but your getting a lifetime warranty. If it breaks they will fix it free or replace it (as long as you don't break it just for the sake of breaking it).

No mention of the Strider-Bucks?
0.10" thick titanium liners and a .19" thick blade.

The Dozier is sweet but, it has a feature I'm not into (A thumb stud, although Bob would probably make one with a hole.).
It also falls into the Sebie price range. That's why I say wait for the Busse, the new Strider SnG looks awesome as well. http://www.tadgear.com/edged tools/sng.htm

I'm waiting for the Busse and Strider, when spending $300+ on a user folder I want as many options as possible.

A large stockman in 1095. Has more than 1 blade shape, 1095 is a new super steel with good edge holding. It will do the cutting you discrbe very well.

DB, 1095 isn't really considered a super steel. Good yes, super no. One negative is 1095 rusts real easy, a positive is, it's easy to sharpen (which is great because you'll be doing it often).
