Which one do you own?

Would you say it's a solid knife?

Durable, and able to withstand a beating over time?

I've just purchased the Persistence.
Seems pretty solid and I like it a lot as of right now.

Just curious if anyone has had any problems down the road with any from the Tenacious family?

I very much like the Tenacious. I would like the exact same knife with a nicer steel.

Same here. If it were a Golden Made model in high end steels I'd be all over them. As they stand now, they really do offer a tremendous value.

I had a persistance i edc'd for about 2-3 years solid. And my buddy has a tenacious hes still using for maybe 4 or 5 years now, and its still running strong. He even used his everyday at yellowstone for 2 summers extensively and its all structurely sound. Very well built knives.
I would recommend them to anybody who doesnt mind china made. I would probably say for a inexpensive folder it would be my first suggestion.

own many of them and have used a lot. good quality chinese built knives for the price and with spydercos backing warranty support, etc.

I just got a persistence and it has been getting a lot of pocket time. It would be nice in a better steel. 8cr13mov is not too bad.

I very much like my Tenacious. Like others have said. I would love the exact same knife in an upgraded steel but as is, it can't be matched for the price.

I'll echo what was said above. If the Tenacious was made here with a better blade steel I venture to say it would outsell the PM2. To that end though my first Spyderco was a Tenacious even though it is long gone.

What's your issue with the steel? Does it chip easy? Shorter edge retention? ... just curious. I haven't had mine long enough to know these things

8cr usually doesn't retain an edge too long, but will get super sharp pretty easily. & softer steels usually tend to roll instead of chip.

I can get it super sharp...but it lasts one cut. I have Tenacious' placed all over the house and cars. I use them all the time for cutting chores where I don't care about the knife.

I really like the G10, big steel liners, and blade shape of the Tenacious. Plus, we are all steel nerds, so I'd love the exact same everything but with something like M390 or Cruwear. It'd be fun, and I'd happily pay $80-125.

I have a blue one and I bought a green one for my daughter. I think it is a very good knife, one of the best knife values you can get right now.
