To my fellow RAT Packers!
I am catching a plane in two days to the Mediterranean. As luck would have it, some photos of my recent trips have caught the attention of some people in the tourism industry. I have been asked to take some photos of a few places along the Med for some tours, and travel literature. Short version, while in Mexico I made a few connections with some people in the tourism industry. They need some updated photos for tourist attractions their company is involved with. So after sharing some of my recent photos of Australia, the South Pacific, and Mexico, they needed someone they could send out to some places that wouldn’t complain about long hikes, the heat, breathing volcanic ash, lots of airplanes, and rude Europeans. I guess I got lucky. So I will be in Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, and a few places in Africa to take pictures of some important landmarks. I will try to fulfill my bucket list and hike Mt. Vesuvius outside of Naples, Italy. Maybe I need to get a real camera now!

A good friend of mine told me, “If you do what you love you never work a day in your life.” I am beginning to believe him!

Travel around the world and get paid to do it !!! I am jealous. I had to be in the military to do my traveling. You get to have a lot more fun.

Lucky Lucky you. Is that a G10 in the second pic?

Ya Canon G-10 but the picture was taken with something else! It is good for field shots and is a full manual camera. Same Digic 4 proccesor as the 50D!

I just got a G10 and am loving it. Low light performance is a little lacking, but so are my skills so we shall see. Enjoy the trip.

My 200 dollar A630 has taken so many wallhangers... it has its querks, it's a point and shoot... but when you learn the quirks you can use it to your advantage. I know I can do better with a DSLR but I can't afford to drop 1000 dollars on a camera, and I can't afford the weight/pack space to carry it. I guess for my amateur status it does a real bangup job.

I like my Canon Powershot 1100 the best for point and shoot field shots although I am starting to use my G10 more.

I hate the size and weight of the G10 and I always seem to have a tripod on top of it to carry too.

You da man, Bear! Have fun and travel safe, amigo. If you get kidnapped by any good looking women, give us a call and we'll send the cavalry!

Have a good trip Bear, and bring us back some great shots we can all steal and use as our desktops :)

Congrats on the gig and safe travels, Reuben! Enjoy, you ARE fortunate! (I write from my cubicle prison!)
