so i have two questions. first, my ks1800 has a born on of APR07 and i was wondering what i have, Mojo or Mojito. and also my blade is rock solid when opened, but i noticed it was off center when closed, since it can't be the studlock, i was wondering if it was the integral safety pushing things out of alignment and if so is it something that other people have seen. since it doesn't impede performance in any way i am disinclined to send it in for service, unless it is something that im not seeing.

anyway here is a crappy shot from my phone

lemme know if it comes through okay.

What the heck just happened? Was that black cat identical to the one I just watched walk past the door?

First question: It's a Mojo. 440A. The changeover date was July/August 2007. August 2007 is 13C26. Most all of the dealer stock you find is still the 440A.

I just checked 2 (both June 2006), and they're exactly as yours...slightly off center. They've seen some pocket time and are a little worn. I don't have any problems with the way they are...they fire and lock up fine. It did remind me that one needs a little Sharpmaker time tonight!

Oh, and stay away from those Jet Puffed Marsh mellows...ya might as well sit down with a 5 lb. bag of sugar and a spoon!

Nothing gets overlooked by the Don.

Hide the marsh mellows next time.....OL might snipe them from ya. :D

oh, my girlfriend is weird and she likes to let them get stale then eat them......i like mine blowtorched sandwiched between graham crackers and chocolate :)

Try loosening all the screws and try shifting the the handles of the knife in relation to each other. When it is centered move it a bit more in the same direction and hold it in place tightly. Some sort of non-marking clamp is handy for this. Tighten the screws back up.

thanks, but as long as it isnt affecting opening then i don't need to bother. if i clean it soon ill do just that.

I just shipped my Mini Mojo back too Kershaw today...same problem blade offcenter. I thought I found the problem when I took it apart...the pivot bushings where loctiited solid to the inside scales. Cleaned, degreased everything and reassembled...and wha-la..... no difference. I didn't think the blade should be that offcenter, it is very close to rubbing the inside scale, so I decided to let Kershaw warranty take care of it.

FWIW: I noticed on my Mini Cyclone when the speedsafe is off ,the blade is dead center, turn it on, and it moves offcenter, not as bad as the Mojo though. Maybe the tension on the blade, from the torsion bar, is pushing the blade to one side or other?

hmm. its always been a user for me and so until it rubs im not too concerned i just noticed cause with my thumb all bandaged up its the easiest knife to carry.

I've been using the following trick since reading about here on BF a couple years ago. It has always worked for me and it doesn't take much to do. Will say I nevered triedit out on a Speed-Safe though, so.............. Anyway, with the knife opened, loosen the pivot about a 1/4 turn, then apply pressure on the flat of the blade pushing towards the liner the blade is closest too when closed. Sorta sounds odd to push the blade towards the liner it is about to scrape against, but that is exactly what you do. Then close the knife and see if it has moved, when at desired spot retighten the pivot. Like I said, this has worked for a few knives I have had that had not so perfect blade alignment.

so BTT, i was flipping the mojo more and more and i noticed the studs on the studlock happened to be pushing so far apart from each other that they almost fell off. wondering if when i bought this knife they came attached with loctite or something. i can push them back together with pliers but i was just curious if this was a defect or simply a symptom of liking the knife too much :)
