Off Duty Question!!!

Afternoon hogs! Quick question for those knowledgeable: what were the original prices for both the coated & satin finished Off Duties? Also, were they the same regardless of handle material? Thanks for any help hogs!

Oh, and any Off Duty pictures are welcome...:cool:
 
I'm not sure what the original pricing was. I do know that the height of the hollow grinds and the size of the clip point have varied from those original handfull. My newer one has both a higher grind and longer clip.
I got my first, an OD/Black Paper, from a Hog back in 9/05 for $462 shipped. This was probably pretty close to his cost since he is a right honorable Hog who has shaken the Man's hand. ;) :D I believe it was one of the first sold at Blade West '03, but it is not the original prototype. The Hog who owns that one know to contect me if he ever sells it.
I snagged the second at Blade '07 or '08, I think. I have no idea how much I paid for it. Just told Amy-0 to put it on my tab. :D It was probably $597 or $697, but it could have been $797 for all I remember.

$450.00 is the smallest number I have seen. I know someone paid $550 a few years ago ... was probably a Custom Shop one (I think coated??). Hope this helps.:)
 
The two that I got from other HOGs were considerably higher but are sweet custom OD's. The one I got from Knob Creek a few years back was $597.

No pix...they've been seen enough. ;)

Those are so awesome! It's my #1 WTB Busse right now. I know who has that original proto too. He won't sell it, but I have it listed in my WTB ad anyway. :D

Where on earth do you find 27 virgins anymore? This isn't the 20's anymore... you have a better chance of finding the offduty then 27 virgins =)

The Off Duty looks like a railroad spike that someone slapped a couple of micarta handles on. They are really too thick to cut anything. Fortunately for you all, I've always had a keen appreciation for railroad spikes. You should send all Off Duties to me for proper love and affection.

On a serious note, Dark Nemesis still has the other OD Proto, doesn't he?

Sure, no prob...and I'll not only give 'em to ya, but I'll cover shipping too! Uh-huh... :D:rolleyes:;) (BTW, my S/SS OD is not a proto, AFAIK. It's just 1 of 2 that I'm aware of in this specific combo)

The OD that DN posted before does say proto on it and it's sweet! So make that, I want his proto and your Hammered AD. That would make me happy! :foot:
