So I just noticed the grind on my tglb is slightly off. Under the fuller on one side there is a wider flat before the primary grind than the other side by about half a mm. I know there are fakes about so I thought I'd ask if this was normal.

Or do I need to pay the bloke I bought it from a visit?

More like .75mm on second look. Never had a hand ground blade before, guess it's to be expected?

Actual edge bevel is near as dammit perfect, mirror polished it today for a giggle.

The grinds can be off a little. I have noticed that it's almost like there are 2 different machines that were making the tglb's. On mine I have 2 that have larger fuller grooves and the shallow hallow grind comes right up to the fuller and there is almost like a lip before the fuller. Those seem to have a thinner edge as well. The other 2 have a little space between the shallow hallow grind and the fuller with smaller fuller grooves. By smaller I mean they are not as wide and these have thicker edges. I also noticed that the melt down treatment ( the rounded edges. I think that's what it's called) is more round on the ones with the larger fuller grooves

Half a mm? Lol.
I got my brother in law one TGBG and when comparing it is more than a mm longer than the TGBG I have!

Makes me wonder how some 3rd party Kydex sheaths manage to fit. What if the template the maker used was a slightly shorter blade?

Most of mine have little imperfections here and there dosnt bother me much I use all of them. My bg ad was kinda odd the angle of the grind on one side was nice but half down the blade to tip on one side was very off like 10 degrees on one side And 20 on the other

There is a pretty convincing "replica" being sold on a site that will not be named. If yours has smothed G10 handles, I'd start looking for it to compare.

I can't tell if this is a joke or not... Atleast post pics

I don't suggest you ever buy a hand forged blade lmao, you might have an OCD induced breakdown

See my post above yours for pics. I had the same happen to me, there is a noticable difference in performance. I was unhappy when i found out it was just a variation in machine work/production. There is no shallow hollow grind, heavier blade, less chopping performance, not as slicy.

You should name and shame

Unless of course you're reffering to that site where busse's are selling for something stupid like $70, then i know exactly what you mean

Just as in reference to the slightly different grinds. Best pictures I could do looking down the blade the one on the right is the one with the lager fuller and more hallow ground and you can see the grind comes right up to the fuller.

Just realized here's a better way to see the difference of the grinds, one is clearly much leaner
