It literally took me 'till this afternoon to figure out why Surfingringo said I wasn't off of the hook. But thanks to him I actually did this regrind and I think it LOOKS AWESOME!!! IMO, that is how the Endura 4 should look from the factory.

I did scratch the blade a little bit when I was deburring the spine. Guess I could refinish the blade next.

How did you keep the steel from overheating while grinding? Looks way better....I always like a point on sharp things myself. Nicely done and thanks for sharing....

Looks awesome! I'm still loving the pacific salt I did! Nothing to it huh? Looks like you left a little subtle curve in the spine too? Actually it looks like you left a little more curve there than I did. I think I like yours better. :)

I kept a cup of water next to the grinder and dipped blade in often. I taped the side of the blade to act as my guide. There is a chance that the tape absorbed some water and acted like a heat sink. I did tape the edge to protect my fingers and then I just used my fingers to guide the blade. Having my fingers on the blade helped with over heating because I could feel the temp of the blade. It did present a challenge because this Endura has a full flat grind. I had to move the tool rest up and try to get the spine parallel to the grinder wheel.

No, it wasn't hard but finding the time was a little tricky. I don't think there is as much curve as you think because the middle of the spine lays flat on my desk. But there is a lot of curve near the tip and near the Spyderhole. It reminds me of the Calypso series and, as I said before, IT LOOKS AWESOME!!!

Well, I took my dremel to the spine to clean up the grind mark and the Dremel slipped off of the tip of the knife. I made the very tipy tip into a drop point. Fortunately, the "damage" will sharpen out over time but a may take a couple trips to the stone.
