Simply wanted you to share in my excitement.

Got the Dozier General Utility on Friday and the Small Plain Sebenza (polished blade) today.

These 2 knives are really my first significant blades. I am completely pleased with their quality and feel. The true test, for me at least, will be how well they perform in their assigned tasks. The Dozier will be used for deer cleaning and processing. The Sebenza will be used for anything it decides to do.

Later in the fall, I will post a review worthy of your regard.

Special thanks to: feverdoc; for showing me the light!

Those are both EXCELLENT choices. I cannot think of a finer way to begin a collection for both fixed and folding knives. Someone recently said that buying a Sebenza is a "rite of passage" that allows you to go on to a Darrel Ralph or Tom Mayo folder, so let us know what you get next!

You sure started off with some great knives! Lots of luck and let us know of your reactions when you have had the chance to get some practical user experience with them.

scott...two thumbs up on your choice of blades...i know you and i talked many times about which fixed blade to get and i think you made a great choice with the dozier....sorry i missed you at the show today as i really wanted to see that new dozier you got yesterday....mike payne said it was really nice....also congrats on your decision to get a seb from mike payne...not only are you buying a great folder but you are getting great customer service not only from crk but from mike also...have fun with your new blades and dont cut your thumbs off....see ya at the range....feverdoc

You made the same Dozier choice I did (K-1 right?), an excellent little knife, and I too love my small Seb, but that was bought late, after I had my large Seb for several years and used it in the same roles for which I now use the Dozier. The small Seb is more a city knife for me, while the large Seb or the Dozier get to do the more interesting jobs.

You have great taste. Both are superb cutting tools which will work hard for years. If I was starting out again today, that's probably what I'll get too (could have saved myself several hundred dollars worth of dissapointment too...).

Bob Dozier makes some really premium using knives - I just love the no-frills, functional design of his small fixed blades. I have had my eye on the master skinner for awhile and may just add that to my stash when the wife has forgotten about the last one. Not to mention that his D2 blades outlast just about every other knife I own in edge-holding.

You made some great choices. They are both excellent tools and will last for years. I used a K-2 last fall to process a couple of deer and was very impressed. In fact, I've been thinking about picking one up for myself.

It would have been easy to spend more money but, it would have been difficult get a better knife.

Thank you for your quality feedback and confirmation.
These first 2 choices that I made were no accident.
I did my research, because I truly believe you get what you pay for; front end and back end. Also, I found this site to help with my choices. And yes, Matthew Rapaport, your K-1 review closed the deal. Last but not least, I make a point to seek the advise of those that know more than me. (feverdoc)
After going through several 1911 pistols, to help my discover the obvious choice, I vowed never to waste my time or money again.
Do your research, try the product and close the deal. That's why I started my knife collection with Dozier and CRK.
Guys, I hope I am welcome here. I truly value your opinions and expertise. Thank you.

Howdy Neighbor!! Welcome to the Forums. I think the philosophy you have adopted is very sound. It will save you alot of backtracking and Buyer's Remorse in your future purchases. Great choices on those knives!!

If you're ever down near Chattanooga give me a holler. :)

Excellent choice of blades Scott. I was glad and honored to be your dealer of choice on the Small Sebenza.:D
Also, thanks for the kind words Feverdoc :)

JScott,
Two great knives!!!!! But out of curiosity, which 1911 is the obvious choice????

Thanks J,
Just wondering, Wilson did one of my Colt's a few years back. No problems with it.
Take care,
