Nice...you're off to a real good start, I got my first knife from them the other day! :D

Welcome to ESEE buddy, good luck trying not to blow all your cash on them :D. As far as recommendations go I would have to say a Junglas and some TKC handles for that 4 would really round out that collection. Great choice on getting the lite early on, it's probably my favorite and most used ESEE. The sound when you use it is just so addicting!

You're the second person I've heard debating between buying a Junglas and a much smaller option. The first time it was 'Junglas or Izula.'

I love my Junglas but I probably wouldn't buy it agian. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome but to be totally 'frank': it's just too big/heavy for most needs. I feel that the versatility of a 5 or 6 would serve more people better in more real world applications, it would be a little cheaper and much less cumbersome.

If you got the dough, hell, get one of each color of each model. I'm sure Jeff would appreciate it. He would also appreciate someone buying the knife that best fits the intended uses. I'll finish by saying that I do use my Junglas but not for anything my 5 couldn't do.

I don't mean to talk you out of anything but just to make you consider my point of view. I'm sure that if it's an ESEE knife, you will surely love it no matter what.

whoa. that's some nice haul! since you said you're open to suggestion, i'd say you have more than enough steel there, no need to buy more knives for the time being. the next step is to start using them and start building skills to back them up

i partly agree with you. if i have another option of splitting wood (or have no need to get to perfectly dry and smalll kindling in all seasons where i live) i would get rid of my beloved junglas (it's still currently the top knife i'd rather have above everything else i own or what's available out there). in that world my perfect knife combo would be a machete (very efficient chopping ability, less learning curve, less weight and physical injury risk compared to an exe) and a necker knife such as the izula for fine tasks.

a junglas will out-chop and out-split a 5 & 6 anyday...for the real world, i'm not sure how many people have had to pry a car door open really...the only advantage a 5 has over the junglas and the 6 in my experience (well, except the 6 is i've never had one).

I really like the 3 model - have the rc-3mil and esee-3mil-s.

It is a good compromise between size and functionality. Also, depending on your local laws, it may be able to be carried concealed, whereas the 4 would have to be open-carry where I live.

I don't own a Junglas, and am not sure if I will buy one....I'd rather have a machete or an axe and the 6 is big enough for 'knife use' IMHO.
