I'm off to scout camp in NC (Camp Daniel Boone). I'll be gone for the week. Taking: Spyderco Salt 1, RAT 1, BM 556, Wenger SI, LM Juice S2, Vic SwissChamp Plus, Vic Huntsman, and Izula. Switching off what gets carried.

HAve fun. I will be going in another week. So far I am taking a blind horse knives neck knife, surge, and vic swiss champ. I will also have sa wetterling wildlife hatchet and buck tree saw.

Wow, Scouts has changed! When I was in we were only allowed to carry a small slipjoint. If anyone brought anything else the Scoutmaster confiscated it until we got home.

All depends on the Scoutmaster(s) it seems to me.

I remember talking with my customer in Marion, IL concerning some of his inmates from East Saint Louis. They did not know the difference between a flat head and Phillips head screw upon arriving at the Supermax.

Unfortunately many Scout Masters could be the same way so they don't see the advantage of having the proper tools on hand while in the woods or working. Or worse they are afraid of the tools.

We could carry anything most of the time as long as we did not act stupid. At Boxwell for the first time we were told NOT to carry anything on the belt, however.

Today I have more hardware available than sometimes even I can imagine.:D

Pics and a review of the camp would be great. Glad to hear you had a good time.

When I was a scout, most of us carried sheath knives in the field.

Went to Camp Daniel Boone twice as a Scout many moons ago. I know I carried a Bucklite and some sort of fixed blade or another.
