This is a flashlight question. Any suggestions on how/what to use to clean the contacts? I have a Pelican M6 that's been sitting on my nightstand for months, used for 10 secs at a time maybe once a week. Wanted to use it yesterday, and no light. So I replaced the batteries, and still, no light. Twisting down the cap didn't give any light, but then pressing on the temp switch caused the light to go on.

After closer inspection, it looks like the older set of batteries may have leaked, because there was gunk on parts of the cap. After a good swabbing with a QTip, it still doesn't work consistently.

I'm hesitant to soak the entire cap in something, but I'm thinking it may be the only way to clean up the cap assembly. Any suggestions?

I would try using baking soda and warm water, have used it in the past on flashlights, otherwise send it bac to Pelican, better yet, give them a call and Im sure they would reccomend something
Good Luck

Mmmm, doesn't the M6 use 123A 3-volt batteries (lithium)?

If so, not sure the baking soda solution would work. Hey, worth a try though.
