So what happens when you click on the link with Vista?

this

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems

More information

If you are certain that your Internet Connection works and that your URL is correct then you might want to try clearing out your Internet Explorer Cache. IE is funny and stupid like that sometimes. That is also why I use FireFox.

well i'm on here and the pics open fine. my connection works great. i'll try the cache thing. my son in law is having the same problem. i believe it is a vista security setting somewhere or i guess it could be the new install of explorer.

Get a Mac and life will be easy. Mo Betta puter. Plus it boots up in about 30 seconds flat from being off, not asleep. Then the speed really picks up.

I know nothing of this Firefox that the others speak.

MAC? You mean the "My First Fisher-Price Computer"? No, no. Those have their own fun freak outs, but at nearly twice the list price. Don't believe the hype.

sounds like someone that hasn't used one in a while...

i use Firfox on my Macs too... i like it a lot better than Safari

thank you, it works, the re-association thing worked great  you're the HOG

1.) Go to Conrol Panel, double-click "Default programs"
2.) Click "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" - takes a few seconds to load the list.
3.) Double-click the file-type under the "name" column (such as ".mp3"). It is probably showing something already, like "Windows Media Player", but don't believe it.
4.) Now you'll have a list of "Recommended Programs". Double click the one you want. I chose "Windows Media Player" even though it was already "supposedly" set to that. Again, it will show "loading" at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds.

Macs and PCs are not serious hardware, regardless of the OS, although the Macs are closer to the real thing. Vista is just plain nasty. I will avoid it to the maximum extent possible, even going with Linux as the alternative.

My personal favorite is IRIX, the Silicon Graphics flavor of UNIX.

I use Firefox on my O2, my Impact Indigo 2, and my Indy.

i cut my teeth on Solaris, but i prefer Redhat/Fedora

but the new Mac Pro could probably out perform most of the machines i've ever actually used...

I got Vista on my new Asus G1S and hate it! Bloatware crap! Bill Gates should be paying us all to use it and thanking us on top of it.

Anyway, I use Firefox instead of IE and have always had better results.

But I decided to load Linux/UbuntU alt drive on my and use it instead of Vista and I couldn't be happier - FYI.

Guys,

We have a forum for this sort of thing. It's called Gadgets & Gear. Let's place threads like this there the next time, please.

Sending this over there.

For OS, many people have "upgraded" by dumping Vista and re-installing XP. The buying public seems to have been enlisted as Beta testers for Vista and, so far, the reviews are mixed at best. For a browser, Firefox works better than IE with much less attendant spam. Always a nice bonus. Pete

Upgrade !!

Upgrade to Windows XP , stick with what works.

Vista has turned into Microsofts biggest enema yet.

Not trying to be a smartypants , honestly trying to help.

Upgrade to XP and your problems will disappear.
