Anyone know what knife this is? Any good?

Was wondering if anyone has experience with this knife, recommend any other that will see time in the ocean, cut fish or kelp with. And can be left alone all day, come home wash it off, and its good to go. Worried about rusting. But want a knife that will hold up, and can clean up easily, and easy to maintain. Dependable. With a mount that can go on thigh, or ankle etc.

Any help or suggestions?

That is the SOG seal pup elite. I have one and it is OK but it mostly sits in my trunk in my BOB. The one that I think will fit your needs best is the Spyderco Salt series. There are fixed and folders in H2 steel that will take a lot of salt water abuse with little show.

Brutane: Thanks for the quick reply, I will look into Spyderco right now, but I already ordered the Sog before I replied.

SMS: Thanks SMS for the reply!

Mike: Thanks mike, I ordered the knife, looking into Spyderco also. You guys should make something for salt water!!!

I almost got a Seal Pup - held it at the store - too small in my hand. It's a decent knife, but i'm not a fan of their serrations - would be a PITA to sharpen in the field.

that's the standard seal pup that would be a fine dive knife just clean it off at the end of the day I have a few SOG fixed blades no rust on any of them even after leaving them dirty
for awhile from fish and other crud.

I have the SOG Seal and the Sealpup. Tough knives, should fit the bill for what you need. Ought to hold up just fine. They tend to be my hunting/camping when it sucks outside knives (i.e. rainy, wet). The Sealpup is just about the right size for great many tasks IMO.

tarditi- i had the same problem with the seal pup. if your interested you should look into the seal pup elite. longer handle, shortened ricasso( so a little longer blade), and available without serations. i love it for when i want a backpacking blade, but then again i got this before my rc-4...... lol i still use the sog alot, especially when boating( i live 1 mile form the atlantic)
