Saw topic for holster another member posted, I was wondering, who here goes running/jogging? Anyone have any carry options they can suggest when what is worn is just sweat pants, tshirt, and a zip up hoody?

I was thinking shoulder holster for a Glock19 or a 26. 2 spare magazines. I've been using a remora from Maxpedition to hold 19, spare magazines, light, and a few little things, but I don't really need those little things.

I also carry Izula or Emerson Mini-A100.

All I've google found are airsoft stuff, which I don't feel so confident in, and I def don't want leather, for breathing purposes, and might grow microbes.

Any input would be appreciated, my remora bounces everywhere, wanted something more accessible, that I won't need a belt to stabilize, and I don't have to twist it all around to get to.

I realize this is probably not helpful, but I have gotten back into shape walking my 7 month old English Setter, often wearing my Camelback and a Becker BK2 on my belt. One time I had to drop off my Remington 870 at a buddies house so I just carried it with me - thought I might get a few looks, but the only guy I saw was a neighbor who knows me and didn't think a minute about me carrying a 28" barrel shotgun around our neighborhood. On topic, if you are really jogging in your neighborhood, an Izula/Becker bk14 etc would be easy to conceal and lightweight enough not to bother...

A shoulder rig with a Glock while jogging wouldn't be my choice because as you run, the gun will be moving, swinging and bouncing a lot.

For this application I'd be looking at belly band style carry methods. For the life of me I can't remember the name, but there is a belly band system that has suspenders with it. This would stabilize the gun and keep it from bouncing around. I'll see if I can find it.

ETA, found it. TRUSS holster system. It was originall designed for undercover LEOs to carry a lot of crap, but with just a gun it wouldn't be too cumbersome and is more stable than standard belly band holsters. Thoughts?

I don't carry anything but a knife when I am running. I have never been able to find a way to conceal a handgun when running and have it be comfortable and secure. I will have to watch this thread to see what ideas get thrown out here.

Check out the Universal Holster by BlackHawk or the other one by Eagle Industries. Both will carry various sized handguns plus one reload. I've been using one for years and it's very comfortable. The only thing I changed was the metal hardware to plastic fastex attachments. There's another one called a Chest Raider, but I don't have any experience with that one. Good luck.

I am liking the truss, going to google around it. See what pops up. Thanks Adam. BFS, haha, I don't think that would be a good idea around here! MLRS, I was going to try a maxped FalconII tonight but its raining pretty hard, someone else suggested a 5.11 fanny pack, but shoulder top to under arm worn, so heavy ended and tightened fully it'd just ride under my arm. I am thinking of trying this. Bobo I am looking at a Chest Raider video on youtube, I want to be able to carry something on me, looking at S&W 380 Bodyguards, but would prefer to stay with my Glocks if I can. Friend just suggested take a small revolver, nice holster and I won't notice it, I said I run in sweats lol. Not belted clothing :(

Eh, trying to figure options out, still loading the Raider video.

I've been running as my primary form of cardio for 25 years and have yet to find anything that actually works for carrying a gun. Please don't waste your money on fanny packs or regular belly bands. I do carry a Syderco Delica clipped to my shorts/pants at about 4 o'clock and that seems to provide a small measure of comfort.
I did find this however, http://shootingsystems.com/special_use_holsters/executive_protection_waistband_holster/ and it looks very promising, although very expensive and more complicated that it may be worth for a couple/few miles.

Reading reviews, the raider, manufacturer has POOR customer service, and unfilled orders? Eh...don't wanna give my business to such a fellow.

Well since its raining bowling balls outside I have had ample time to experiment with my boredom.

So I have a cobra buckeled belt, I put it around the waistband notch on the remora. And though its not on my waist, tighened remora shoulder strap, and belt on my mid body, its somewhat not moving? Though not very comfortable. So back to brainstorming.

Friend suggested a vest tightened with molle holster...don't have that kind of holster, but tried a vest on I have, and its very tight, but don't know how that will hold up.

My Mrs' and my Aunt, suggested, how about treadmill? lol. Or stop running at night. :\ damn it...

And the fanny packs? To many look TACTICOOL, so its been nothing but dead ends. google searching has me mind numbed.

Thanks for the link but after checking it, I don't think that breathes to well. In the morning going to check out 380 fire arms and see how they feel weighted. velcro attached into remora may not fly around as much, and I think may weigh far less than a 19 or 26? Still need to check. Maxpedition has great smaller misc pouches with can be hung by D rings, and maybe 550ed around waist to eliminate sway?

I too have been running for exercise for over 25 years, and I have never found anything that works well for carrying a firearm. Whatever I tried either bounced around too much, showed too easily, or chafed. The only thing that even came close was a Renegade brand ankle holster which I could wear only when running in sweat pants (need the pant leg for concealment). Even this only worked well when I was jogging very slowly (10+ minute mile) and had a very lightweight gun in the holster, such as a S&W airweight .38 or lighter. Even so, sometimes it would shift out of position and bounce painfully on my ankle bone.

Also, something to consider is sweat. I don't know about you guys, but I get drenched in sweat when I run, and so does everything I carry. My gun and holster were always getting soaked, and I had to clean both after every run or risk corrosion on the gun and some major stink on the holster. I finally gave up and simply clip a good sized lightweight folder to my shorts or sweatpants. I have to clean the sweat off the knife after every run too (even stainless steels will rust if exposed to sweat), but its much easier and quicker than cleaning a handgun.

When jogging or lifting weights I carry the izula. I used to carry it as a neck knife but recently switched to waistband carry w a modded 3mil clip.

If your still looking at the Raider chest rig, look at Shomer Tech. They carry one. I would still go for the Universal Holster, they show it carried under the arm but it works very well carried across the chest. Or get a shoulder holster (made out of a synthetic), just get the kind with a bungee retention strap (jumpable).

Cold Steel Delta Dart in a neck sheath. The grip is always the same, so you don't have to worry about it flipping around like a neck knife. Sometimes I carry a folder in the waistband as well.

Ok slight update on this, I ended up picking up a TT Lunar CC Pouch from a friend, he had already put grommets? Into the bottom backing of the pouch, now I usually run in shorts and or sweat pants, but somethings got to give if I wanted to have a handgun on me while I ran, so changed a few things. No more loose boxers, switched to tight elastic kind? Second I switched to some pants from US Cav, and a really tight cobra buckled belt, so my fix? I used 550 cord on the grommed area to secure around my thigh, second, the malice clips kept it snug to belt. Honestly not that big of a difference except it was the weight I had to get used to, cause now I could carry, and with a light in hand, I was GtG, however I wanted to test everything out before going out jogging or running. So last night on the mill (I hate running on those, feels like I am restricted...), not very far imo but almost 2 miles for a warm up of jogging, and I lost track of my run. Only thing I have to complain about is yes, still not used to the weight on one side, btw, I was using a Glock26, and one spare magazine. Skin was irritated a little bit around thigh even though was wearing pants, belt too caused some red spots and I put some ointment on the really red areas.

Over all I will try tonight and see how I like it, but its not the best option, but it works, and I feel I just need to adjust to the weight, May switch to a maxped pouch, or smaller size, since there is only a minuscule amount of wiggle I notice sometimes.

Feels a tad better on waist line than under arm/shoulder where I sweat buckets. Its been very cold in So Cal the last few months, and have noticed alot of coyotes in the area, and on occasion seen wild/stray dogs that have been loose. And a few shady families have been moving into local area.

I don't feel "so" naked anymore, and defense is in quick easy reach opposed to swinging an unwieldy bag around me, unzipping and still needing to pull out. A fanny pack is ok, but for biting the bullet and trying their 5.11 packs, or others I've seen, doesn't securely hold weapon like this setup does, and with the red cross and words first aid slapped on this, it looks relatively inconspicuous.

In a short few I will switch to biking, then and there, I won't be so concerned like I am with running, maybe because I will be seated most of the time, and other options can be better used then and there, but thanks to everyone for the great input and ideas! If you come across something to add or suggest in the future, its still appreciated!

Quick idea, you've seen the community cops on their bikes? I'd look at the carry rigs they and perhaps Law Enforcement Park Rangers use.

Just thinking of a Hydration Only Camelbak with a Maxped Tactile Medium mounted to the chest strap. The Medium Tactile is big enough for the compact glocks. (I think)

Just an idea.... and you get hydration with it.

Somtimes the simplest answer the the best.

I am a big runner and used to live in a very rural Alaskan community where loose dogs wolves could be an issue in winter. I used to carry a Glock 26 in a little pouch that looked like a fat wallet in one hand while running. It looks like your are simply carrying a wallet or something.

All I simply had to do was keep the top edge open and reach in and grab it if necessary. I had to use it only once when a pack of dogs gave chase and a gave them a warning shot which sent them running.
