Off topic- just curious- question for Chris

I was reading the 2 part interview with Chris in the March/April issues of Blade, and it mentions that Chris used to race motorcycles in South Africa.

So Chris- what bike(s) did you race? Do you doing any riding now?

He raced Grand Prix style bikes on the South African circuit and had his greatest successes on a 250cc Yamaha. His dream from a small boy was to become World Champion but that was not to be - on motorcyles at least. He would have loved to have continued racing but funding was short and he didn't have the support of his family at the time.

(As an aside, he considers having received the Blade Manufacturer's Quality Award pretty close to achieving that World Championship!)

He has ridden road bikes all his life and currently owns a BMW K100RS. We brought this bike with us when we came from South Africa 12 years ago so it is not in its first flush of youth! He also has a Fantic Trials bike and an old Yamaha off-road that I putter around on when we get out on the logging roads.
