Since I made this with knifemaking equipment I thought I'd sneak it in before Kit caught me. Jeff, this is the lock plate I'll be using on this years Deer Rifle. It will be a .58 Plains style with an interchangeable 20 ga smooth bore.

The plate is made from low carbon steel and forged. filed and ground. I have been using blue steel(as in the old blue blade steel) washers after Kit helped me find a source for the steel. These just slick up the works and reduce any chance of binding.

All holes are drilled undersized and lapped in for both smoothness and exact fit.

A couple more hours on this thing tonight and it will be ready to assemble with Jim Chambers/Siler parts.
