My daughter was sworn in today as a law enforcement officer. She is starting part time, but will go full time in about three months when one of the older officers retires. I am extremely proud of her! Just to toss in a bit of Busse content, she has four of her own - early Mean Street, Lean Mean Street, Natural Outlaw E, and one of the original Satin Jacks.

Congrats and great for her! Don't forget to tell her that OT checks should be made payable to the BCS! ;)

She already decided her next one would be a BatacLE, I told her good luck with that! ;)

congratulations!! the academy and graduation are events she will never forget.

from one to another, please tell her to do her best, serve her community well, and stay sharp!!

Congratulations John... are you still at that phase where you can't get that perma-grin out of your face 'cause you're so freakin' proud of what one of your own has become? :) Make sure to take lots of pictures for retrospective bragging rights down the road... something you can show off for the rest of your life. I bet you're still beaming, aren't ya.

-Take care

Hey! You be as proud as you wanna be! :D

Congratulations to your daughter as she begins a life of service to her community. It's a rewarding thing...in ways other than the monetary.

Congrats to you and your daughter. If you attended the graduation, please post a pic or two so we all know where NOT to go speeding!:D

I know...and it sucks! It seems the people we most depend on...police, teachers, nurses, etc...are the ones with the most depressed salaries.

I've never understood it.

Spend too much on knives? NEVER!!

although there are some that get in to police work because of the salary, most of us know we will never get rich doing it.

my partner cant even afford to buy a house, though socal property values are pretty inflated.

im not saying my salary is bad, but sometimes i sure feel like i work for peanuts.

in southern california, we have some of the highest paid teachers and cops in the nation. but coupled with the high cost of living, including gasoline and property values, its difficult to keep up.

and even though gross salary is on the high end, it still seems low with what is expected of the employees.

ill never regret my choice in career, overall, though.

dont know if i believe in "callings", but i sure feel suited for the work.

John,

Congrats to you and your daughter.
Brag all you want.
Oh ya, where are the pics????
