I just bought a Ruger sp101 357 but I'm not really a fan of the stock grips does anybody have any experience with replacement grips I am leaning towards a set of badger boot grips in rose wood but thought I'd ask the hogs first if you have any pictures or comments please post them
Thanks

For comfort/ergonomics/shock absorption w/full house loads, try Hogue rubber monogrip :

I agree with Will, another choice is Pachmayer, for the same reasons. Although the stock grips do a good job at controlling recoil.

SP101 is an great... love mine! Personally, I like the factory grips... they do a great job of absorbing the recoil with magnum loads. Lots of guys also like the pachmayr compac grip for the sp101. They are still small enough to allow for good concealment.

Here is a thread on your question: http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum/defensive-carry-guns/117153-badger-boot-grip-sp-101-a.html

If you decide to smooth out the trigger a bit here is another great thread. I've done this to mine and it makes a HUGE difference.

Good luck!

I pocket carry a SP-101 from time to time, so I keep the stock grips in order to keep the bulk down. But some cushier grips would be nice for shooting.

I agree with you on the stock grips - They are way too small for my hands at least, but very easy to conceal. My favorite grips for the SP are the ones from Trausch. Very comfortable and secure. I have the black ones pictured but there are plain white Trausch also.

For my spurless hammer SP I use the one finger wood grips from Hogue in Lamo Camo.

Easier on the hands than the stock grips and easier to conceal than the Trausch. The fully indexed Hogue grips don't match my finger spacing. The new wooden grip inserts on the new .22 SPs are neat for a low-recoiling SP.
Hope this helps,
Lloyd

+1  They really make range time more enjoyable. You may find thta they drag on your shirt a little when carrying concealed.

No longer have a SP101 but when I did have one I went with the Hogue grips. They seemed to fill the hand nicely and did a great job absorbing recoil.
