Have any of you Hogs or Piglets bought the new SIG Revolution 1911 .45? If so, can you give me a short review? Never having owned a full-size 1911, although I have a couple of Colt Combat Commanders, I find the SIG to be calling to me. SIG certainly has a reputation for making high quality firearms.
It can be had locally for $886, or I can buy a used one for $779. (I would probably spend the extra $107 and get the new one.)

I dont own a 1911 myself but got to say I like Sigs.

Don't own one but have shoot them at the range. I wasn't all that impressed with the hype I had heard... If you want it get it... go for the used one and spend the extra $$$ on ammo or wilson mags

I own several 1911's and have owned many in the past. I do not own this one, but I would say that if anyone could make a 1911 shoot reliably and accurately out of the box it would be Sig as Sigs are known for being very accurate weapons. I'd buy a new one, I don't mess with used guns unless I know where they came from.

I don't own the new Revolution, but I have three Sigs and afew Colts. The fit and finish of Sig is second to none. They really put out a quality product, my experience with Sig has been nothing but positive. I would love to be able to shoot the new Revolution it looks awesome!!!:D

i was born in 1911

i have half a dozen 1911's and would love to own a sig with the rail. they look to be very well done.

someday i hope to have one.

I have several 1911s ... and the old reliable Sig P220 in .45acp... but have not shot the Sig 1911. From what I've heard and read the original Sig 1911 had some problems and a lot of unhappy customers. I haven't heard anything either way about the new Sig 1911. I'd suggest doing some looking over at a couple other message boards.

just a couple I frequent.

Supposedly, all the issues that were present in the earlier models have been rectified. They sure do look nice:)

Why do I have no problems visualizing you hanging out at the Arcade on a Friday night, dancing yourself into a frenzy and scaring off all the pretty girls?

Pretty girls at an arcade? Bwhahaha... You DO have a good imagination ;) :D

Thanks for the links, Redsnake. Great forum, I have added it to my favorites. What I take away from the discussions is to forget about the tradeins and go for a new one. By the way, I was wrong about the price for the new one. I was by the shop again today, and it is $869, or just $90 over the used ones, which may have been traded in for good reason.

It's the insight that comes with old(er) age. Just wait until your 20th HS reunion. The hot babes look tired and used up while the plane janes look amazing. It is an eye-opening perspective.

This is true.

I've read hours and hours about 1911's, and this is what I've gathered about Sig 1911's.

The first ones out of the shop were a chop job. They attempted to buy parts from many different manufactures, using Caspian frames. It turned out to be a bust, all the Frankenstein parts never fit too well together, and the first run was a bust.

Sig decided that they still wanted a piece of the 1911 game, so they started to manufacture all parts in-house...including the frame. They also have no MIM parts, which is very rare at that price point.

According to nearly all recent reports, they are a fine 1911 for the money.
