This is pretty much the only sub forum I post in.

Looking to get a Hinderer XM-18.

While I wait for the Busse Infi super folder.

Tell me what you know.

Forum sponser to purchase from etc.?

There used to be a forum for Hinderer but it shut down in 2015.

What happened there?

Thanks hogs

I've only handled one at bladehq, literally to see if the flipping action was good or bad. Have to say it was pretty bad.. It was one of the newer XM18's, Bowie grind
If you did buy one I guess Bladehq or USAmadeblade.

I just snagged a XM-18 3.5 off the exchange and am very eager for it to arrive. It'll be my first Hinderer. I've owned other major brand folders and really feel good about my purchase.....will update for ya later.

Both are reputable and great to deal with. I try to deal with USAmadeblade when possible as it is a small brick and mortar shop and Scott is very active and helpful on the forums. If you have any questions about any knife he will take the time to answer. If you want pictures he will get you great shots of whatever you like.

I've owned at least 20 Hinderers. Currently have 5. The newer ones have much better action than the old ones. Don't expect much from them in the customer service department. Mr Orlando thinks the company can do no wrong and every knife out of their shop is perfect

That being said, I do like the knives. It's cool how readily available they are now since Hinderer moved to a bigger shop.

I like the ZT's as well. Just as tough, U.S.A. made model's, and customer service is top notch.

I also carry and really like SOME models of the ZT. My current favorites are the 0801, 0550, 0620, 0350. They have some other models I really like and several I sold the second I took them out of the box.

If I was going to get a new one, I'd get one of the DLT trading versions. M390 steel and no choil.

ZTs are cool but the bearings take some of the soul out of the knife. To be honest, my favorite ZTs aren't Hinderer designed except the 0392. Now THATS a Hinderer made better by ZT.

I did see those, I don't like that they all seem to have lock side anodizing.

I fear the ano will get all scuffed and scratched with no spa treatment available.

I didn't notice that the back was anodized, but I don't think that would stop me from getting one since it has a better blade steel and more useful blade shape. Some of them have a DLC coat instead of being anodized.

Have you looked at, Strider, Spyderco or Emerson?
For a custom, I recommend Crusader Forge, too.

My Hinderer is quite nice, though I'm not a fan of the Teflon washers they use in them. I'm looking at an Olamic Wayfarer next.

I have the Hinderer XM-18 in the S35VN Bowie Blade and it flips great and strops very easily, purchased mine at usamadeblade, Scott is way awesome and will not settle for less than perfection!
This is my first Hinderer and it will not be my last, just like my first Busse many years ago!!

I have a Gen2 non flipper XM-18 3.5 Spanto in El Max and I really, really like it.
Seen a LOT of folks not happy with the newer flippers, so I haven't grabbed one, and probably won't until I can handle one.

I have many of the above (except Crusader Forge)

When I was buying SnGs the XMs were commanding too high a price.

I was looking for something between the SnG ruggedness and the Sebenza refinement

Eric at DLT was able to find a M390 Choiless working finish with black/green G10 that was not on the website

It's on the way
