If I have offended anyone with what apparently has been judged to be using this forum for making sales I deeply apologize.

I am DEEPLY hurt that my joy and sharing has been deterimined to be violating the rules for using the forums for sales so at this point in time this may be my last posting on this site.

I just wanted to share my joy in creating art that is not the usual in knifemaking and I AGAIN AM DEEPLY HURT...

Again I apologize for what has been judged as inappropriate behavior...........

That's really disappointing. I really liked how you put a different spin on the looks of the mojo. Plus, I'm planning on picking one up soon.

that's funny... this whole manufacturer's forum is about selling more knives for Kershaw. Ultimately, that is. Sure there's all the warm fuzzies, and it's a great place to get "reviews" and share stories and BS. But in the end, what are we really talking about. What comes from generating hype and interest in new designs and models?

I wouldn't take it personally, I just think people get too serious about this thing. Me among them, I'm sure.

If you really ARE hurt then this probably isn't the greatest venue for you.

I doubt that anyone was offended (in fact I'm sure everyone enjoyed seeing the knives you worked on), there are rules in place to protect the forum and the makers that pay to have the privilege of selling in the appropriate area of the forum. While your post wasn't an overt attempt to sell, it could easily be interpreted that way, and the moderators can't afford to cut any slack.
Cougar only gave you a warning, typically spammers get banned.

Definitely don't be offended yourself.

I may be way off base here, and I love this forum as much as the next lifer.... but the only thing Kershaw doesn't have on here is their catalog. New releases are announced, MSRP's are quoted, the forum itself is maintained by Kershaw staff.

It's long been my opinion, as much as I like the information, that if you are going to impose limits like this, then there are certain aspects of product information, release dates, dealer information, prices that should be located elsewhere.

To me, all the discussion, and reviews etc are non-biased and valid here.

Michael, I went back and re-read the thread with different glasses. From a Moderator's view, your posts were construed as an offer to sell, and therefore the rules that kd mentions do apply. What I saw the first read was excitement and enthusiasm about something you are very proud of. But, I'm not a Moderator, so my opinion is not relevant. As oe said, and I agree with him, bs aside, the opinions and discussion here are valid as long as they pertain to furthering Kershaw's products, R&D, and therefore, increased sales.

Don't take it personally. Cougar was just doing what he is supposed to do...

Redrummd: Stick around Sir. I personally like your work. The Mods are just doing their job.

Redrummd, from what I've seen, it would be well worth you upgrading to a Gold Membership in order to sell your product. One sale will pay back the fee and then you would have no problems with selling more.

Sometimes rules suck, but this rule has been in effect for several years and if you let one person slide on it, then it opens up a whole can of worms. This is one rule that has to have zero tolerance.

Again, first paragraph, you have a product that will sell. Go for the Gold and help finance your hobby!!:D:thumbup::D

I agree that most probably didn't construe your post as an overt advertisement, and we all enjoyed seeing your work, but to be fair, we would have enjoyed just the pictures alone, too, without the mention of ebay, and then probably none of this would have happened.

But, it did, so chalk it up to a learning experience (after all, you agreed to the rules when you signed up), and move past that incident. You only got a warning, and we've love to see more of your work. In the future, I'd say either post pics alone, with no inference to sales, or pony up for a site membership like the other sellers. Either way, I hope you stick around...

It's nothing personal Redrummd. If it's really important to you, maybe you could contact Couger and get the section in question removed, then perhaps he might reopen that thread

I more than understand your excitement. It is beautiful work on what I think is a great knife.

Please understand our point of view of how many folks join this forum put up a link to ebay or mentioning ebay touting their work and what Blade Forums would be like if we allowed those types of posts.

don't a lot of us?

Yes a lot of us pay to be here. Shouldn't we expect redrummd to do the same if he wants to sell his knives here? There were about four different threads in which he mentioned his knives were for sale. If he paid the $25 for a Gold Membership, he could sell to his heart's content in the exchange section. His knives are BEAUTIFUL, but any mention of selling them belongs in the Exchange section. Not my rules, but Spark's.

Redrummd, you haven't been banned, so no harm done. Stick around so we can see more of your artwork!

please do stick around. i have always thought the mojito could use variations and its nice to see handle material as one of them. you should consider the gold membership. i just upgraded figuring i spend enough time here to justify continuing its existence and although don't make anything myself i would say that you would benefit greatly from exposure in the exchange section

I am finally over being upset. I just paid the Knifemaker membership fee of $40.00 plus my gold membership is still valid so I would hope that is sufficent for my judged indiscretions......

I posted pictures of my latest non Kershaw I just finished today in the General Discussion thread.....

Nice to see you hang in there Redrummd. Very nice coral too:thumbup:

Good lord. That looks like a laguiole with a skull replacing the bee. :D
Beautiful knife overall, and the handle material is striking. I imagine it gleams in sunlight.

Esav, I think you hit the nail on the head!! I was paying so much attention to the beautiful scales that I hardly noticed the laguiole look of the knife. I have a nice Laguiole carving set. Wonder where I could pick up some skulls to replace my bees??:D

I don't know about that. You might make the diners wonder what kind of meat you were serving.
