Official Blades I Am Taking To Peru

They ever break your chops at the airport (here or Peru) for checking 18" Trams and such?

I will be interested in a Gear list and how you pack it all for airline travel ?

All in a suitcase that is checked in. The 24-hour period last trip in the Lima airport must have been strange for them (customs) to see all the blades between all seven of us.

No but if it is a problem I can go down to the hardware store in Iquitos and buy one.

Maybe Mike and Jeff will mention what they are bringing to cut with.

Not trying to bust on anyone here, but my question is why would anyone spend good money to sheath cheap machetes? The sheaths are obviously very nice but most all machete use that I know of has the sheath in the hand while in the woods (surveyors, jungle work, etc.) and either stuck in the ground, thrown in the bottom of the boat, or carried in the hand when not being used. If it's carried on the pack or belt at all (very unlikely in most machete use) then it is lashed or carried on the belt with the cheap sheath that is supplied. Again, not trying to rain on anyone's parade since I guess some folks want such a sheath, but to me it's like putting a 1000 dollar saddle on a 200 dollar horse.

Thanks. I was wondering if you would get the hint from all my whining!

Now Mike will be jealous!

While this is all true about the way it is really carried, for me it keeps my pack and suitcase from getting damaged when the airport monkeys throw them around. Last time all the machetes were shared which is just fine by me but I guess it's a way of keeping track of mine. I noticed the boat was taking some punishment from the machetes and this is also my way of being safe so no one steps on it or sits on it while holding a chicken on a bus.

If you look closely you will see it really is a blow gun and flotation device, no more rafts for me.
