With the recent NYCKS and this thread, the idea of having a name tag to just simply write or print out with your forum name on it to help identify yourself to other members has come about. All are welcome to make suggestions or their own designs or even use the ones I did up are fine :) Going with GarageBoy's suggestion...

Would help if it had a border... I did a real piss poor job, someone else please do something better.

this might be a good idea for blade 05' too... i know it's a long ways off, but that's the only show I can afford

As a graphic artist/designer, I would say what you have is fine. It is large enough to show the affiliation and has blank space for a name, all that is required of a badge.
Most times people try to overdo things that require simplicity and muddy it up. It stems from all those "You can be your own art director!" clipart software programs that allow underqualified people to attempt to usurp the role of graphic artists/designers with 'good enough' results. :grumpy:
The 3rd choice is workable, though I would suggest a third off the size of the graphic and a bit of white space (@ 1/8 inch) beside and above it. :p

Blade 2005? Did somebody mention Blade 2005? :D Man, I can't wait!

The ones on the left or right look good to me. Of course, any use of the BFC logo would have to have the approval of Spark. I doubt if he would have any serious objection.

I'm really in favor of this idea. Anyone out there in the business of fabricating this type of product?

Gentlebeings, Spark is not going to let someone else put his Bladeforums logo on something and sell it. Believe it or not....

It might be possible to persuade him to have nametags made and sell them at 1SKS -- he did it with the T-shirts, after all. I've been watching this thread thinking I'll leave it here in Community for a while and if it brings out some real interest, then I'll move it to Service & Support for Spark's attention. How about it, guys? How many want a Bladeforums name tag? I think it's a great idea; I want one for myself -- but we'll need a lot of interested people to make it a viable idea. Show yourselves!

I be up for one. There have been too many knife shows where I have missed people that I wanted to spend time with.

I never had the idea of making any money off of it, it was just a thing you could post as a sticky maybe so that anyone could save it to their computer, MS Paint their forum name on it and print it out.

The idea of having truly "official" name tags though sold thru 1SKS that are nicely laminated and have a pin on the backside would be great though :)

For the past 3 years I have worn a name badge that I made myself letting others know that I am a BFC member. It's laminated and has a clip.

What Powell did anyone here can do. Copy the image from the website (R-click 'Download Image to DisK' or find it in the browser cache) and paste it onto a MS Word template for badges or an Avery lable template. Fill up the sheet, print it and cut to fit a badge holder or buy the appropriate lables and feed the sheet into your printer.
Y'all are smart enough to use knives so you are smart enough to figure this out. I don't think the Powers will object unless you really bang it up to where it reflects badly on BF ;) .

Hey I like the idea myself. Anything Collucci says is good enough for me. Hey, I also know a fella who will do a tattoo for 15.00 and 2 Budweisers. While you are awake or passed out. :) Cavelady

Maybe a nametag could be worked in as another reason to become a paying member..hmm...

If I pin my name badge to my kilt, do you think people will recognise me?

Maximus I think I have a solution to this!!! Dress up in your Braveheart garb w/blue and white face paint. Or dress up like Sir Elton John, wig and all. With your accent I'm sure you'd be seen and may be asked for autographs since he has a home in Atlanta, as well as around the world. Just a thought.
