Dear Yangdu:

More Folders, More Folders, More Folders!!!!

Locking folders, small folders, large folders, folders who sit on hats, folders who frighten cats, folders sharp enough to de-wing gnats, folders scaring little brats.

Folders, Folders, Folders.

the folder was pretty cool looking... I'd like to see a review of it and more detailed pics before I'd say I definently want one... but it did look very nice.

i know this won't be well received but i'm not too in love with the idea. the knife looked great but i gotta feelin him imp's gonna end up losin money on this one. competing with the chopper industry is easy for them because they have this age old tradition that really shines next to mass produced products. i dont see a crude folder standing up to a chinese crkt at one fifth the price, let alone a spyderco at the same price. that folder was a great deal for collectors since there's only one.

People look to HI for the best khukuris... I think if just a few folders were made, the die-hard collectors would snap them up... the general public, especially the ones "that don't get it" wouldn't touch them.

Like a good cigar (I suppose) only the cognosceti appreciate some of these things.

Also, think of the kamis- a folder has to be labor intensive in a way that's new to these guys. Pins, springs and other small parts can fall into the fire or get eaten by a goat.

Just saying.

I did not see this coming.

Do we have a picture of the etch yet? Are they differentially hardened? Enquiring minds want to know.

I can hardly believe this. I'm not a collector and I'll 'snap one up'.

Who called this a crude folder? Compared to a CNC machine? YEah. Right.

I'd pay a hundred bucks for a handmade folder of this size, with horn sides, anyday anytime.

Crude? Not to my eye.

And the one Bura made has always been said to be very tight.

If HI can market these and make a profit, I'm in, and I think a whole lot of others are too.

...if you want perfection, buy a high end ball bearing....

Beautitul, every one different, one of a kind folders. I've wanted an HI folder every since Bill talked about the one Bura made.

I assume the edge would be full length hardened.

Very cool it is. And something I'd never thought to see.

Munk, were you channelling Dr. Seuss for a bit there?

t

Yeah, he visits me in my dreams. He once told reporters he was the Grinch- that's where he got the idea- a man after my own heart.

Bura and Yuvraj will make more Folder Knife. Thank you all.

This is something I think the kamis could do very well. A nice folder doesn't have to be complex. Look at the Opinel folders from France. Great little folding knives without a spring or piece smaller than the hinge pin in them. I've carried one in my pocket every day for years.
