Does anyone know just how strong the tip is on a Offset? Looks like even a moron tip breaker such as I - would really have problems busting this one - but I'm really unfamiliar with this method of making blades - do they get a traditional tempering as part of being made?

good question. and im the offset freak around here :D

i believe that they also get a normal heat treat along with the MIM process. so long as you avoid prying you should be fine. it should hold up to poking things and cutting them (just not poke and pry :D).

at least thats my take on it

ive wondered this too. I have two offsets and they are great knives and can handle all the tasks i would put before them. im not one to test the limits of any knife as i cut things with them, i dont abuse my knives in any fashion. This being said i still wonder how a MIM 440c blade would compare with standard 440c. i just dont want to accidentally drop my offset one day and have the blade snap in half upon impact. i know the offset is overall a looker and not really a workhorse knife but for the price of admission i hope they will hold up regardless
