Hello all. Noob here, and just want to say that this is a great forum. Been a lurker for about a year and have decided to finally throw a question out there. For some time I have purchased knives at a local chain sporting goods concern. They have a sale every week on many different items and that has included knives. For many years I have frequented this store and, for example, I have always bought my athletic/sports shoes there. I have taken to purchasing offshore commemorative knives. They are decent pieces and come in fancy packaging. Just wondered if anyone else does this. Recently they had a Boy Scout 010 Year commemorative knife. Being an Eagle Scout, I thought what the heck. It is a Schrade Old Timer (Chinese), Trapper design in a nice tin. I paid 16.98 for it. I will just put it away. At the same time I picked up a Winchester lock back in a nice container for about 12.98 and one I actually carry, a very nice Chinese CRKT folder they had on sale for 19.98 that is a VERY nice knife. Some of the offshore pieces I see are extremely nice knives. Anyone else do this? Love to hear any and all thoughts.

Blessings...
Steve

Welcome to the Forums, Alembic1981!

Commemorative knives aren't my cup o' tea, but I'm sure there are others who do collect them and can offer you some useful insight. Good luck with your collection and have fun!
