Didn't think I'd ever be posting in this section but it seems I caved. I just traded 4 knives for a small 21. "Generally" I am not crazy about titanium knives or even frame locks but if I am going to give it another go I can't imagine a much better knife for me. The size, weight is what I generally prefer in my EDCs.

Here is what I traded for a near mint 21:

All like new in boxes
Spyderco Chaparral
Spyderco Delica G10
Spyderco Dragonfly G10
Benchmade Blackwater 16707 G10

Dollar for dollar as a whole it's a bit lopsided but a way for an old, retired Marine to obtain an expensive knife without being kicked to the dog house!

Will I miss 'em? Surely but most of us have many knives and it's just part of the hobby.
Some might think I'm nuts but what the heck.

Worst case scenario is you have to sell the 21 and then go on the hunt for those 3 Spydies and 1 BM.....either way it's a win-win in my book. :)
I do think you'll like that small Sebenza though.
Not getting kicked to the doghouse is the best part!

awesome, and congrads! i don't think you'll be regretful at all. the only requirement though, is you have to post a picture when you get it :P i enjoy my spydercos, gave some as gifts and the friends love them, but the CRK is just a special piece when you finally have it. Enjoy, and hopefully you get another chance yo get another one :D

I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it :)

Agree with 김원진. I own a Spyderco GB, considered one of the best made spydercos, and a Mnandi. The GB is exceptional, but the CRK is just in another league.

You will like the sebenza, trust me. Its a folder unlike you have ever seen or held before. When you first handle it, you will be in awe as we all were our first time holding a sebenza. When opening and closing it, you will see what all the fuss is about. They truly are second to none.

I have had knives by almost everyone of the popular mfg's. I have since sold almost every one in order to buy more CRK. I have also had knives that cost easily 2-3 times more than a CRK, and in the end, I ALWAYS come back to CRK. Its that simple. Though I do have my likes and dislikes within the CRK lineup, past and present. Its Still CRK for me. Everything else is second in my mind, some a very close second or third, but still behind CRK. This coming from someone that has owned a total of 67 CRK over the years. For the price point in which CRK resides, they are simply the Best. My father on the other hand thinks any knife over $50 is too much....lol. So when I tell him about mine, he just shakes his head. Everyone likes something different and puts a price to it.

Let us know what you think and what your first thoughts are when you get it.

I'd take a Sebenza over all four of those knives any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. You made the right decision.

You made the right choice. My knife collection philosophy at this point is to continue getting all of the mid-range knives I have an interest in, and then once I have enough to get a CRK I'll trade 'em or sell them off. This way I get to try out more stuff but know that in the end I will have a keeper.

Congrats on a wise decision I would have done the same thing, just be prepared to want more:eek:

Id have to say in the long run you made out on top. That 21 will last a life time of use without rock lock, and the spydercos will eventually develope rock lock. Chris's knives have spoiled me for most production knives, and now I buy only midtechs and customs and the occational ZT. great pick up.

Mail Lady had a package for me today. I now own a 2010 Sebenza 21. Used but in great shape. It rounds out my current EDC rotation well. I know you have seen a million but this one is mine!

I traded a Spyderco Vallotton, Spyderco Lum Tanto sprint and a Spyderco PPT for a Ti-Lock. Never regretted the decision.

Yeah....wanting to get or trade for a Used small sebenza insingo. ;) Congrats, let me know what your opinion of it is.

There is another thread in the general forum comparing CRK vs all others. It has the usual content as expected. I think the knife is terrific. Overpriced? No, Overhyped?
No. You must own one, take it a part and put it back together to realize how precise these are tooled.
It has to be appreciated for it's simplicity and quality rather than toxic green G10 & steel made from chunks of a moving comet.
