These are remarkable. Will u please provide some more information on these?

These were made in the early '90's and, according to Debbie Boye, David's wife, there were between 350-500 of these produced. They use his cast 440C 'Dendritic Damascus' for the blades and nickle-silver for the handle. The very end of the handle is split and not only lets the blade pass through and kind of snaps over the tip to hold it closed but can be used as a tweezer when open, hence their nickname.

The etching was done by Francine Karsten of Francine Etchings who worked with David from the very beginning of their careers in the early '70's in California. Two of the larger ones are inlaid with Cocobolo and Ironwood while the small one if Mother of Pearl and even has the Bamboo Shoots etched on the nickle-silver handle....the only handle I have ever seen etched....:cool:
 
Extremely different to say the least. But very awesome looking. Artistic, yet functional looking. The rayskin background was cool as well! :):thumbup:
