I got some 44/40 instant blue. I thought I could touch up my colt a bit and maybe it would look good on the opinel. I thought it shine more, I thought it would change once it dried, I swear I didn't know!

I knew it wouldn't look great. Thats fine. I wasn't prepared for this though. My knife looks like it it got slathered in matte black tempra paint and smells like a port-a-potty at low tide.

Rubbing alcohol? Sandpaper? Sandblaster? Napalm? help me, please
 
Don't sweat it Bando. Just take some 0000 steel wool and some light oil and polish the blue down.
 
Yep, 000 or 0000 steel wool (0000 is finer) wet with oil, and gently rub the whole blade down, this is the normal way of polishing cold blue after application.
