In their own way, as addictive as INFI.

I just discovered Hi-Powers recently. But, dang, I love these things. Best ergonomics I have found in a handgun.

Top one is earmarked for a trip to Novak for sights, trigger, etc. (Novak defensive package).

Middle one is just gonna be my field shooter. Best trigger I have seen on an out-of-the-box Hi-Power.

Bottom one (.40 S&W) jury is still out on. Just doesn't have the "feel" of the slimmer 9mm HP, plus I am not really a fan of two-tone guns. Maybe with a set of slimmer grips I can warm up to it.

The Hi-Power is one I've never owned, afraid to buy one because of fear of addiction. Who am I kidding , I gotta get one of these oneday.

Thanks for the pics Mike

Browning Hi-Powers are the very best Single action Semi-Automatics in the world in my opinion!

Browning HP 9mm was my first handgun, the wife owns the middle one in the pic. I always wanted a Practical in .40 but the gun is terribly stiff compared to it's 9mm companion. GREAT guns!

Now you need a Nazi marked one, an Ingles, a shoulder-stocked/graduated sight model, a couple a Portagee/SouthAmerican ones - esp. the compact, and. . .

AAARRGGHH!!!!

(I only have one - I stopped there. Nazi marked, war-era model. Definitely the FN machinery but probably concentration-camp labor - rough as a b-word. I like knowing that some American took it off a (hopefully dead) German officer.)

I've got the same Practical that Mike has in his picture but I had the hammer bobbed for bite relief.
They are awesome pistols but as I love JMB's single action autos, I can't get over the icky trigger. I want to remove the stuff to make it better but I've already been poisoned by Ayoob:o

That being said, M1911s are the very best Single Action Semi-Automatics in the world in my opinion, but I will probably keep buying Hi-Powers too;):p:D

Nice collection Mike!

I know of a shop that has a German one made in Belgium, out of my price range, but I would love to get my hands on a regular BHP one day.

The ergos of the HP/GP/P35 simply humiliate the 1911 and its ilk.
I just wish they came in .45....

Me likey the HP!

Here is the FN MKIII 9MM version - I love these. Made and assembled in Belgium, priced lower than the Browning roll-marked versions. Just as well made, in my opinion (MKIII).

A buddy of mine had one just like the one in the middle. He was blasting away with it at the range one day and, no kidding, the front sight worked it's way out and hit him in the fore head. I don't know if he ever got it fixed. I think John Moses was a freaking genius, but I will probably never fore sake my 1911's for their 9mm little sister. I like a big bullet and 9mm and 40 S&W just don't cut it. To each his own though, nice looking toys you have there Mike, as usual. :D

I am not a big fan of 9mm, but I have one made by FN in 1982 that I'll never part with! :foot:

love HP's. The original Hi-Cap handgun

I never owned a 40 cal HP, but I did not realize that they were dimensionally different. They look exactly alike?

.40 slide is slightly wider and heavier...

Ahhh... one of the things we belgians are good at - making guns.

(Beer is the other thing we're good at - both brewing and drinking!)
