Yangdu just told me my M43 has arrived from Nepal and will be in the mail to me today!

Well it's not exactly mine. I bought it for my grandson's birthday but that's the end of March so I have until then to pretend it's mine!

!!! huzzah , the m43 are great , a lovely model, you and he will enjoy very much

I've got a hankering for one myself ever since Slugger brought his over for show and tell. I owe him one for that.

Was your M43 a custom order or one of the stock lineup? I put in a custom order a month ago for a 20-21" chiruwa m43 with a 1/2-5/8" spine, horn handle, single fuller, and slightly larger handle for my large hands... I know it is going to be a few more months but I can't wait to get my hands on it.

No mine was a stock M43. I think at the time, early December, I said I preferred a horn handle but would take whatever was available.

Congrats:) You're grandson is gonna love it. I bought myself an M-43 made by Sher several years back when my dad brought me into upper management with the family business. It's been a quiet sentinel under my truck seat over the last close to 10 years. Always ready, always sharp, always eager to spring into action. I've done everything with it. Actually, while I cut my wedding cake with a custom YCS, on the night before when my groomsmen and I were up to our wild and wooly ways overnighting at a nearby cabin it was the M-43 that built our fire, carved our marshmallow sticks, and I proved that a properly wielded khuk can bifurcate a full beer can from top to bottom...on this ride YOU WILL GET WET:D

In short, the M-43 has been a constant and cherished staple of my sizable khuk collection and one I plan to keep to the end of my days.

Please some pics when that comes in. Fullered M43! Im trying to envision how different that would be from a 20" AK. Fullers running through the graceful curve of M43 should look fantastic! It will be over 3 pounds I bet. I for one love the idea! My 20" AK is a workhorse in my house. Your ideas are not halfsquelched:thumbup:

Holly Molly - This got to be close to a 4 pounds monster!

Is your real name Bruce Banner?

3-4lb blade is fine for me, I am 6'4" and built but no that is not my name lol

I have no idea how long it will take to come in but I will post pics of it when it does... along with my 18 and 15in Chainpuris.

Congratulations Boltface! Were in the same boat, Yangdu also told me my M43 was in and she would ship it today. A 25 oz horn handle one for me, my dream Khuk, can't wait!

Well I posted a response about an hour ago but looks like it went into the internet black hole.

Thank you for the positive responses guys, much appreciated. When I started looking at pictures in late November the M43 just spoke to me. I think it said 'buy me'. :)

Steely_Gunz - Thanks for the story of your M43. As I said initially this is for my grandson's birthday, 16th, next month. If it's 3 pounds that will be too much for him but he can use my KLVUK and display the M43. For his 10th birthday I gave him a Ruger 10-22 and have added to that collection every year since. He has a number of knives but mostly folders so I thought it was time to give him a knife that made a statement. I think the M43 will do that! It seems like he usually has figured out basically what's in the present before he opens it so with none of these type blades around the house we'll see what he comes up with this time. Should be fun. This will probably be another shocker for his left leaning dad. :)

Aleous - Well I'm on the east coast so you may get yours before I get mine.

The M43 has arrived. It's a beauty! 16 inches long and 30.4 ounces. It definitely has some heft.

A question, who is the kami? I would like to put together a little info package about the M43 for my grandson. If there is a picture of the kami that would be great.

I'm really happy with the M43. I just love the lines. The question is will I use it and put some mars on it before I give it to my grandson. I think I'll resist, maybe.

I believe that is Lok Kami, boy, do I love that man's work! I've got a BAS by him, and I'll never let that one go, it's a beauty, and great functionality between a chopper, and weapon.

That M43 is beautiful to look at, I'll bet the functionality of it, will be just as impressive. The pictures truly doesn't do it justice,

Your grandson will love it!

so lok is the fishy guy? i have a huge kobra i bought from ebay by him , excellent-- and beautiful blade so glad you got it ! he has gotten much much better at that mark :D

I believe there was a picture of Lok somewhere around here. I don't seem to have good luck finding pictures. I think after a time the pictures go away too. Kind of sad. Lot of history in pictures.

Steve, Thank you very much. I searched the forum for Loc pictures and boy is that a lot of work with little success.
