Wow, that's all I can still say. Just picked up my first CRK this week and finally discovered what all the hype over CRK is about. Before I'd only bought Benchmade, 705s, 940BT Osborne, and a 710. I picked up a Classic 2000 (Small) from the local B & M shop, and I 've hardly put it down yet. Smooth operation, zero blade play, super sharp out of the box, & blade centered puuurfectly. The 705S had blade play after one month of light use, and all three BM's were no where near as sharp as the Sebbie when out of the box. The BM's are still nice, and I do like the Axis lock. Anyways, it's well worth the price, the only problem I see is trying to figure out which one to purchase next ! Which leads me to a question. I really like the wood inlay model(s). Is the "woody" constructed well enough for EDC, with respect to the wood inlays ? I know that the rest of the knife is super well built, but am curious about the inlays. Thanks, Steve.

WELCOME TO THE INNER SANCTUM!!

Welcome to the forums in general, and this one specifically. You done good! You got yourself a good knife, a great knife, dare I say?

Sorry, but can't answer woody questions any more. Sort of a medical -- private medical -- problem, you understand.

Would advise you to take a little time and really check out your new Sebbie. I'd think about size. How well the small suits your needs, whether you think you'd do as well, better, worse, with a large model. For example, the large, was a bit smaller than the other knives I'd been carrying. I don't think the small would have worked for me at all, at least at first. But, I've been carrying a Spyderco Native a lot also, and am learning to love the smaller size blades. So, think I'd feel right at home with a small model now. In fact, someday, a little lefty will probably become a priority for me.

Again, welcome! Somebody should be along shortly to speak to the ability of hte wood to remain in the handle. (I don't believe the guarantee changes much, if any, when you move to the woody. If not, then I think your answer lies therein.)

EDIT: Forgot to ask if we can call you calimari, or you insist on Stinky??

Welcome to the Forums. Sebenzas could borrow a phrase from Harley riders, "If I had to explain it, you probably would not understand it."

Looks like you understand!:D

The woods are definitely something to "write home about". This was the latest large box elder that my customer picked up from me..the wood almost appears "marble" and is extremely nice. Ergonomically they feel great in the hand as well. No problem with the wood coming off either. A product by 3M is used to hold it on and and there is no worry about it coming off.

I would say that the woodies are great as an EDC. I've had my small LH curly maple (2000) for over a year and carry it frequently. Granted it sees only light duty and I keep it in a pocket by itself so that nothing scratches it. The wood seems to get a little darker with age. You can use it without fear because for very little money CRK will make it like new for you. Left hand models are harder to find. I was lucky to pick one up from Tallpaul, I should be getting it in a week and will post pics. Here's my current small still looks new and IMHO they age better than the plain ones because the wood doesn't scuff like the titanuim scales of the plain.
