We spoke yesterday (my pleasure, sir) and I requested (and paid for [I think]) an old fashioned, manual gold membership upgrade. I'm not sure how long it takes to fire one of those up (does it still require a hand crank?) but I'm almost beside myself due to the anticipation of seeing my name in gold letters. Any help you could give to keep me from going to ffffffrenzy-ville would be appreciated.

Yes, the old manual upgrader is hand-cranked. If you were in a hurry you shoulda used that new-fangled steam powered upgrading machine. The cranker doesn't work on weekends -- Crankers Union rules, you know....

Wow, weekend service! You know the upgrader cranker gets double time and a quarter for coming in on a weekend....

The trouble with scrutinizing that parrot is if you get too close to him he'll try to get you to jump out of the airplane.
