So, I head off to the 34th Annual OKCA show last weekend, wearing my fancy new 'Custom Knife Collectors Association' name badge...feeling a little emboldened now, thinking that after buying a half-bazillion Randall Made benchmade semi-production knives (ok, maybe 500/550 RMK's total)...I might finally buy something 'custom'...
Alas, after nearly six hours of looking, and several more RMK's and vintage Gerber production knives bought (eight total), I was thinking that it just wasn't meant to be--that I wasn't meant to own a custom knife...then it happened; I saw her, she called my name, and time ground to a halt...
A little arm twisting here, leg twisting there, and she was mine...marked Nealy over Makers over Elishewitz and deeply stamped 10 on the left side, The Tung Pan and some Asian characters on the other, she came in a custom kydex sheath with an internal magnet to allow for handle down carry.
Not much to look at (I'll post pics later), this 50% swedged full-tang spearpoint has a 9" OAL and 5" blade with thin blue/black/green G-10
handle scales. Still, as pure fighting function goes, this beotch 'll surely do.
So there ya go STeven, I popped my cherry; sure, she's at least 20 years old, but old enough to not ask for a pretty new red dress - or call me a sumbitch for using her as intended.
