Pakcik Bill.
First, I didn't received the shipment of Silver Mounted Dhankuta & Village Chainpuri. Now, I've been waiting & waiting & waiting ... for the arrival of 20" Rehandled by Pala Beefy Sirupati - it was already 21 days since you shipped it (21/9/1999) from Reno - by right it should reached here by 4/10/1999. This morning (11/10/1999), the following news appear on the front page of our daily newspaper (The Star) - this news really make me very very sad! Don't tell me that my Beefy Sirupati also has falled prey to this culprit!
STOLEN IN TRANSIT - Syandicate helped itself to millions in airmail items - KUALA LUMPUR: Police have busted a syndicate which is believed to have raked in millions of ringgit by stealing money and luxury items from registered mail at the KL International Airport.

The syndicate, which has been active over the past two years, helped itself to money, luxury items, clothes and jewellery sent through registered mail by locals and foreigners here.

Among the items usually reported missing were foreign currency, watches, pens, chains, rings, VCDs, diamonds and other expensive gifts.
I hope this type of case won't happen in other place ...

It seems that the stealing were not only done by Postal or Custom peoples!
MASTERMIND ARRESTED - Seven held over theft of mailbags, two charged -
KUALA LUMPUR: Police detained a man believed to be the mastermind behind the theft of mailbags at the KL International Airport. The man was among five Malaysia Airlines (MAS) employees picked up recently in connection with the case, bringing the total of those arrested to seven. Two of the suspects, who were detained on Sept 27 and who are also MAS employees, were charged in a magistrate's court yesterday for the offence.

I assume even if they convict them, what was stolen is now gone forever. But what happens to the seven? How long before the trial? If convicted, what could happen to them?

I am betting that whoever made off with Mohd's deer horn handle got a bitter surprise when he found out the handle was not ivory, after all. We can take some consolation in this, I guess, making the best of a bad deal.

But perhaps they just like the khukuris -- another 20 inch Sirupati going to Mohd is long overdue.

The problem is that the wrong doers are sometimes richer than their victims! They might win the case with the help of some good (?) lawyers! The victims are the confirmed losers - take for example my might be stolen 20" Sirupati is not just an ordinary Khukuri for me:
  • It is the one called as beefy Sirupati.
  • It was my 1st successfull catch in the forums.
  • It was rehandled by Pala himself.
  • Special offer price.
  • I won't get the same one like that forever!
Anyhow - whatever Allah decide is always the best decision!

The police actually do recover stolen property.Sometimes it even gets back to the rightful owner.Don`t lose hope.
