I just got 3 110's back from Buck Knives to have them buffed and sharpened. One 3 liner plus a 2 dot and a 3 dot. All 3 blades were in great condition and just needed to be sharpened. Well, they buffed the knives beautifully but also replace all 3 blades with new ones!! Looks like I need to give them a call on Monday. Thoughts?

Sorry that happened, you should always send your knives to Joe Houser with specific instructions on what you want done. If any parts need replacement have them call or email you. They may still have the parts :/

Good input. The knives that arrived were my 3; 1 3 dot finger groove plus a 2 dot plus a real nice no dot - 3 liner. My instructions for the 3 were real clear. Sigh. Hope they still have the blades. I just won a real nice 112 today that I'll send in to Joe per your recommendation.

There's no such animal as a Three-Dot fingergroove 110.

If you have an original 110, 3 dot finger groove I'd like to see a photo of it. It would be Rare. DM

Guys-

Forgive me for my unicorn creating. Looks like the 110 FG has a dash on either side. The other 2 were right: 2 dot and a 3 line no dot. I sent Joe an e-mail and I'll call him on Monday. Leave it to me to have something like this happen.

That makes more sense......makes things somewhat better, although the Double-Dash is a desirable blade that is sought by some collectors.

I never send knives to Buck at this time of the year.

They are very, very busy with hunting season stuff that people send in late, plus I suspect they try to give some employees time off to go hunting.

I suppose that there was some misunderstanding of your instructions. It's too bad and I hope your blades can be recovered.

You might send e-mails to several different people to make sure it doesn't accidentally get missed and then make your phone call early Monday morning. Dial 0 to get a real person and ask them if they can track Joe down for an urgent question.

Leaving messages is not advisable in this situation......they'll want get right on it.

Well, I contacted Buck Knives this morning and they found my 3 original blades. Yeah!! The knives are on their way back to Buck to be rebladed with the original blades, then buffed and sharpened. When I get them back I'll post a pic of those 3 amigos. You should have heard what the amigos said about having new blades installed!

Yup. Pretty fortunate. I just talked to my big guy, 650 Nighthawk. He wants to go camping with some of his little bros this weekend. I'll post a few action shots of them in the wild when I get back.

I am very happy for you and your amigo's, That would cause alot of alarm for many people and addressing the knives to Joe H might have ended this before it began but what luck the blades were found and will be reunited. This thread has caused alot of concern as I have sent some of my old Amigo's and hope they enjoy their time at the Spa, come back with a nice fresh look but only asked for 1 blade swap only if Joe H thought it should be. I have so much admiration for a company like Buck just from this forum and the responses by both by Joe H, CJ, Jack Foresman who helped getting my nephew his lifetime BCCI, problems due arise but seems Buck has a handle on making the customer Happy. 1 knife I sent in did not need alot of attention but thought they would get a kick at an oldie going through the spa and I am sure passed around a little

Wow Nuto. That is a REAL beauty. Hope to have something like that in my collection someday. I often wonder why companies don't pull out their old drawings, use the same materials, tool up and do an exact match of their original product. Can you imagine being able to buy a brand new '64 match of the original 110 complete with the tan thin case? Is it just me? Yeah, I get the collector principal of wanting to have the original but............Same with the 124.

I think the collector's would not like a reproduction as maybe people will try to pass off as the real thing. If a 124 is reproduced I know I will be in line for one, two, maybe three as that will be my focus next. Yes the 110 in picture is a 2nd version 2nd variation as I found out only with the help of the great forum members, as the different version and variation's can be a little over whelming. Most of the bucks I show where handed down from my cousin who has passed, they were his love and he passed that onto me, the buck in the picture was a recent purchase I made to add to the collection and could not pass up when I saw it. Look forward to seeing your pictures and I will be showing mine when I get them back from the spa glad all worked out for you
