I went to the NYCKS today and even though I knew Busse would not be there I was still hoping that I would catch a glimpse of a Busse knife on someone besides me. I found nothing, no INFI truffles, or Nuclear eye candy :( ( I don't have an O.I.N.K shirt yet so I couldn't advertise that Hogs were in the crowd and maybe that was a factor) I figure that just like last year I will leave the show empty handed and just order a knife from Busse. Then it happened...
I start watching the TV in the elevator on the way to the lobby, and I see that Pabst Brewery is for sale and Carling Black Label is going on the auction block with it.:eek: Then I realize that without CBL, the life blood of Busse Combat there may never be more knives. :( What a day :mad:
 
Something has to be done. I called the shop today only to find out that they had decided to close on Fridays from here forward. They have dubbed Fridays "CBL Observance Days".:eek:

Soooo... I'm thinking that if we can kill off CBL, maybe they can scale back the time off to once a year for "CBL Mourning Day".:rolleyes:
 
Made my first appearance at the NORTHWEST KNIFE COLLECTORS CLUB(NWKC)yesterday and most had never heard of BUSSE!! The comments were "damn thats a pry bar" (STEEL HEART) and thats nice(AD). ANYWAY!!!!!#@%#%$^%(&&# I will work on them!!

We're wokon onem. They only meet once a month so the slowin may be go!! Damn i hate in when the rum kicks in (my a$$)!! Will take my beat ub BASIC next time. Thats my favorite anyway!!I did get to check out a straight handle SH last weekend and ME LIKETED!!

not real sure. OKU has it for a sheath right now. Had a nice feeel though. Do not care for my ERGO.
First heard about BUSSE a few years ago in blade mag in an article that was about the lil ugly. Then while at the gun sow in Hawaii I ran across the Basic 9 and she seduced me. Wont go into details but my wife was not happy with the purchase of a B DAY present

That is when I got started. Really got started after i hacked concrete twice with that same BASIC and it still has the factory edge. I have been hacking cocunuts and chips for the smoker for three years and have yet to sharpen. Still on the quest for the perfect knife. Will figger out some details in the future and call Jerry!!

Hey FOS, I was thinking about dropping by the NYCKS on Sunday - No Infi? now I am rethinking it. How did you like the show overall - I thought last year was pretty good although it seemed a bit small. Was it worth going?
 
The show had its up side, but with the exception seeing Gil Hibben it was a waste. There was others that were worth a mention but nothing really special.
