I thought I had the knife buying bug licked. My last purchase was a Spyderco Caly 3 and I love this knife. I was buying knives at least one every two weeks until I bought it. Its been around 4 months or so. Well a buddy of mine has Case Sodbuster in SS, and after messing around with it I had to order me one. I just got it today, Yellow in CV. I hope this is not the beggnning of a new trend/addiction to traditionals. Anyways the fit and finish are good and its razor sharp out of the box. I can't wait to cut stuff with it at work. Anyways I had to let someone know since I know nobody aound here who likes knives as much as I do.

Dígale adiós a tu dinero.

I sold all but one of my Spydercos, including my Caly 3 after learning to appreciate slipjoints again. Flat black slab handles get pretty boring after a while. I still like my C-95 Manix, but one tactical knife is enough for me.

Enjoy your new slipjoint. It won't be your last. ;)

Case Soddies really started the slide into slippies for me. I have traded alot of my tacticals away for Case knives in the last while and plan to trade many more. Don't try to fight it, you'll sleep better at night if you just go with it.:)

Same here. I sold all of my spydercos except my Salt 1 SE. The only other tacticals I have now are the small sebenza and benchmade 940. Good knives, but nothing compared to the EDC capabilities of a traditional.
Traditionals:
-Age with you (carbon steel)
-Cut better
-Look better
-Some have multiple blades
-Don't freak people out
-Don't make me feel like a man child when I pull it out to use it. I feel more old-timey and practical.
-Help me relate to my grandfather and those before him.

May I suggest a Case stockman in CV steel for your next knife? That was my gateway. Now I've got a canoe, trapper, and eyeballin' a swayback jack.

Frank your problem is that you started with Case. They have so many beauties out there at relatively affordable prices. I started with a 2000 stag pocket hunter a month ago...now i'm looking at buying my 6th slippie. I can't remember who on the forum has it, but theres a signature that reads something like, "I've slid down the slippery slope of slipjoints", enjoy the ride!

I've been carrying a yellerhandle CV sodbuster Jr. for a long while now. I have probably 20 other yellerhandles also. The CV Soddie is the only one that goes with me EVERYDAY. I may occassionally put a medium stocman or peanut in my pocket, but I just love the Sodbuster jr. I own a lawn/landscape company and can use knives almost daily on mowers, tractors, trimmers, seed and lime bags, etc. I used to carry an assortment of knives on me all the time. Especially a Vic Mechanic. Over the last few years I have realized I don't need 3-4 knives on me all the time. Now I keep the Vic Mechanic, Leatherman Core, and Schrade LB7 in my bag that I move from truck to truck. They are avaliable if I need them, but the Soddie rides in the pocket.

I like the yellerhandle, you can find it when you are working on things. Lay it on tractor, mower, trailer, in my garden, etc I can always see it.

By the way, the design of the blade makes it a great food prep knife.

I was in the lawn and landscape biz, but got sent out of town with my 9-5 job and my helper/ungle got real sick, so I may start up again next year.
You know that yellow color is really starting to grow on me. Thanks to capt. carl now I am constantly searching for the yellow stockman in cv:grumpy: I guess if you can't beat'em.........

I think that's why most of us come here to the forums. We need to talk to others who like knives as much as we do.

I am taken with my own Case Sodbuster. It doesn't get as much pocket time as it should because of my Cattle King, though.
