Well, I have no idea how or why this happened to my Leatherman Kick. Has this happened to anyone else?
Good thing Leatherman has an awesome warranty!

I have literally never seen this happen.

If you want the same tool back make sure to mark the "sentimental" box and hope they have the parts to fix it. If not they will replace it with a non discontinued model and I hate to say it but the Kick will probably be replaced with the Wingman/Sidekick or Rev.

weird, but someone's bound to end up with the one in a million, in fact, its a certainty! Send it in with a note explaining the sitch, worst case you get a wingman, and you can troll the big auction site for a replacement kick.

Well I guess 3 months of use was too much for the Leatherman. I still love the thing though, multi-tools are super handy.

I wouldn't say that you used a leatherman too much, I mean, that one might have had a flaw in the steel, or you managed to get more leverage on that one spot than it could take. I very recently broke the jaw off a Skeletool CX, doing something that might have not been the smartest. Did I worry? nup. in the envelope and the made it all better. Stuff gets broke, If I wanted indestructible pliers, I would have taken some, but I carry enough crap, so that's the price I pay.

Haven't had that happen. I've had a liner snap on my OHT and the thin flathead chip on my orange Fuse. Still gotta send those in.

Well this is a bit of a necro post but Leatherman sent me a new Leatherman Kick with the Black Oxide coating. It seems like no one is selling Kick models anymore.
