..it's amazing how much of your finger you can grind off without even feeling it. Cold fingers and slow cuts. I didn't realize on my 120 on this profile that the way I hole the blade let my skin push over the blade into the abrasive. Didn't even feel it at all. Got bothfingers.

That's what I told my daughter with the first forged knife I gave here: "Forged with love, Quenched in blood". It seemed I "let blood out" sometime during the build of every knife. I'm better now at the blood releasing :)

Yes, cold fingers and a 120 grit belt would be a recipe for ground fingers. That's why I live South of I-10 here on Gulf Coast. Our coldest weather is usually around 20F, and that's only a time or so each year, and at night while I'm in bed. During the daylight hours we seldom get below freezing. I think a few yrs ago it didn't get above freezing one day, but normally the coldest days will be mid 30s.
