Sorta. I snagged one of the brass fitted prototypes. (I told myself it was for extended durability testing, but really, I just wanted an FF really bad.)

I've passed on two opportunities since then to get the real deal - it didn't seem fair to me to have two when some had none. If one turns up in bone, antler, or neem - and I'm the closest one to the computer - all bets are off. ;)

It seems that many otherwise nice blades are arriving with cracked chandan, putting them in the bargain bin instead of in the hands of those who prepaid. In fact, I believe (someone else can do the counting) that more FF blems have showed up than perfect specimens, always on account of rather small cosmetic deficiencies. My interpretation of this is that Yangdu wishes the finished product to be perfect. If this is the case, I'll wait a little longer.

Look at it this way: you'll get yours before I get mine as I'll be waiting until the end.

Dave's right.
Yangdu has always been a stickler for detail and the customer's satisfaction. You guys paid for the best. No blems, no almosts. If I'd had the cash I'd have been on order too.

Keep the wait and the faith, and all good things will come.

Yep. I have to say Yangdu is a stickler for quality and also variety  I have never seen so many great khuks coming out. Shame the chandan is cracking it always seemed real dense and tough.

Remember how many horn handles cracked there for a while? I got a rough GR villager in horn and have done nothing to the handle and it is still intact
