This weekend I went to a local flea market to see if they had any old knives laying around. I was quickly dissapointed....There were about 4 different tablefulls of peoples knives, and all they had on them were those garish, poor quality frost folders, and their huge useless bowies. Mostly that stuff you can buy off the tv in bulk
. Curious, I asked one of the vendors what they were selling them for. Most of the folders were about $20, and the man was trying to sell me the bowie for $75. Even worse, I was told that id be getting the knife for a bargain, as the msrp was $90. I continued to question the man and got a variety of odd answers. When I asked about the steel grade, the only answer I got was that the blade had a "roswell rating of 56 hardness". I asked him what the "roswell rating" meant and he told me that It was a way to rate the hardness of a knife, as if I were an idiot. He told me That the knives were of the highest quality available, and would beat out any other knife I had ever owned. Off to the side the man had what I first thought was a black ka-bar. Upon closer inspection I discovered that it was a knockoff made out of the same pos stainless as all the other stuff on the table.
Idk what that has to do with anything, but I thought it was a bit funny.
