Correct suh! That good ol' off brand yellow loveVery nice! Mustard Camo?
Mmm.. around 6-8 hours I think. Had to scrub em off pretty good. Stuff formed a thick black layer on em.Looks good. How long did you leave the mustard on?
Preciate it man! That's basically what it looks like in person.. pics kinda make it look lighter than it is.That looks really nice. A local blademaker uses mustard to finish some of his knives, and leaves it on just long enough to etch the steel to a matte finish.
You did a really nice job.
Thank you good sir! I forgot you have a thing for patinas. I also forget.. did anyone ever win your patina contest? Those blades look great. Very nice work.
Garth
Thanks man! I did it by accident the first time I forced a patina a few years ago on some 1095 Cro Van. Figured I'd try it on purpose this time lol. Turned out around the same.. maybe darker actually. That’s a sick patina camo job! Really love how they turned out!
Never thought of leaving it for 6-8 hours! I’ll have to try that! Thanks!
Myself and one other person tied for first. And Jerry gave a shop credit to all who entered. He made a thread in the Swamp.Thank you good sir! I forgot you have a thing for patinas. I also forget.. did anyone ever win your patina contest?
Found it again after a bit of searching. That's cool. That contest took a looonng time lolMyself and one other person tied for first. And Jerry gave a shop credit to all who entered. He made a thread in the Swamp.
That looks really good! Now I want to see a TNT-15 done like that!Mmm.. around 6-8 hours I think. Had to scrub em off pretty good. Stuff formed a thick black layer on em.
Resembled what feric chloride does during a long damascus etch when I called it.
That would be super fun! I only have the 2 matching cerakoted ones now.. I traded my comp finish TNT for one of em thoughThat looks really good! Now I want to see a TNT-15 done like that!
Thanks bud! I could do that for sure. Plan on getting time to do a little sharpening here soon. As for the patina job.. I may have a couple I'll do this to soon. I'll take pics next time of how I did it for ya.Beautiful, wish ya had pics of the process. Love that stuff.. post pics of that mirror edge when your done
