I recently got some material marked O.K.C. 83-2454-03 #4 H.S.S.
What I am wondering is: how well it forges? and what heat treatment to use? The blanks are too thick for stock removal method. Any info will be appreciated. Thank you.

Assuming HSS means High Speed Steel, it won't forge easily.
